Plan your free museum visit now

Happy September! I know it’s only the 1st, but the 30th will be here before you know it. Trust me. And on the 30th you can visit a great museum for my very favorite price.

Go read about Museum Day and then check out the list of participating venues. Find where you want to go, then print out your card, good for admission for two.

I plan to make my children arm wrestle for the privilege of accompanying me. (Kidding. We’re more a duel-to-the-death kind of family.)

  1. Wow, now that’s a deal!! Thanks for posting that; I never would have stumbled upon that by myself.

  2. My local museum is on the list of participants, but it has free admission everyday. This is a good excuse to travel and visit someplace different. We went to Fernbank in Atlanta earlier this year. I wish we had had these cards then. What you do is get a friend who doesn’t have a kid to print out a card and take one of your kids while you take the other.

  3. My library has passes you can check out to various places. Usually it is only for a discount, but every bit helps.

  4. I did this last year (I subscribe to Smithsonian Magazine), and it was awesome! I took a friend, and her boyfriend tagged along. When he went to pay for his ticket the guy at the counter told him not to worry about it and let him in free too!! That was a happy.

Sadly, that museum isn’t participating this year due to a special (and pricey) exhibit they’re running. I can always use this opportunity to go to a museum I wouldn’t normally visit!

  5. This is great! Thank you.
