Overstock is having another one of those promotions I just don’t understand. I mean, on the one hand, yes, brilliant—call it O-Day, because who can read that without snickering a little? On the other hand, how come O-Day lasts 4 days? Wouldn’t that be O-Half-Week?
It’s very confusing.
Fortunately, my confusion is easily soothed with a good deal. So, from now through Thursday, February 1st, take 10% off your entire order at Overstock, courtesy of O-Day, or O-Half-Week, or O-Who-Cares, or whatever you’d like to call it.
It looks like the $1 shipping is still on for today, too. See? I feel better already.

Thanks to the multitudes of folks who mailed this one in: If you sign up for Big Lots’ Buzz Club, you’ll receive a coupon for 20% off. Supposedly there are other benefits to joining as well, but I am all about the coupon, baybee.
(Note: When I joined, the coupon it generated for me was good for this week, Saturday to Saturday, only. Keep that in mind if you decide to sign up on a Friday; I’m not sure how they decide the time frame.)
Of course, I don’t think I’ve ever spent more than $20 at Big Lots in a single run, before, either. But they do sell larger items, and the coupon may come in handy if you—unlike me—enjoy shopping there for more than cheap granola bars.

Most of the Christmas clearance has come and gone, but there are still a few deals to be had if you’re willing to buy stuff 11 months in advance.
For example, right now all of the remaining Christmas decor at HSN ships for free. Some of it is admittedly a little scary, and some of it really isn’t discounted all that much, but it’s worth a look.
Plus, if you’re like me, looking at Christmas stuff softens the sting of the current frigid temperatures just a little….

I keep forgetting to post this, and several of you have mailed in tips about it, and every time I see them I think to myself, “Self, I should totally post about the Skype deal, and soon,” and then I see something shiny and wander off and never post.
Whoops.
Anyway, now through January 31st, 2007 (that’s this Wednesday), you can sign up for a whole year of unlimited SkypeOut for just $14.95, which is half their regular price. Don’t know Skype? This plan allows you to call other Skype users (which is always free) and any regular (non-Skype) phone in the U.S. or Canada for free, and to call internationally at ridiculously reduced rates. All you need is a mic and speakers, or a headset if you’re fancy.
I use my cell phone to make long distance calls, but the reception in my house is pretty lousy. Now for just over a buck a month, I can make those calls from my computer. Works for me.
(P.S. They take Paypal. Put those random eBay earnings to good use!)

Well, not the guys. They’re not working mothers.
And, um, if you don’t have kids? I guess you’re not a working mother.
But, you know, the rest of us. Anyway, the point is that I really love Working Mother magazine, and now you can get it for under a buck a year. Seriously, an entire year of a great magazine for just $.85. And you can order for up to 3 years. (Also, you can renew your existing subscription, which is what I just did.) They take Paypal, too.

Um, better late than never on this one: through midnight tonight, you can get 99¢ Sitewide Free Shipping at Kohl’s. In addition to it being “Super Saturday” (wow! so super!) there’s a ton of stuff on clearance, and they’re having their big outerwear sale, too, so it may be worth checking out.
Sorry for the late notice. Sometimes that whole life thing gets in the way of the deals. Hmph.

… after the Friday sale, maybe you’ve got a hankering for a nice meal out.
Restaurant.com is at it again, offering 60% off their already discounted dining certificates with coupon code SUPER. Offer valid through 1/31/07.

(After plugging Restaurant.com discounts here for months, I finally signed up for their affiliate program. So go buy your certificates through that link, because I need that $.04 commission off of every $25 certificate you get for $4. Soon I shall be rich!)

That’s a total lie. I don’t love the feeling of frostbite, ever. But at least on a Friday, I know we don’t have to stand outside waiting for the bus the next day. Woo!
Also on Friday, I can put the kids on the bus and then come back inside and comfort myself with my nice soft robe, a cup of really hot tea, and the Amazon Friday Sale.
Today I’d like to hand out some Friday Sale awards, because there are just so many wonderful candidates.
In the No, seriously, what the…? Category, the winner is: this beauty

Looking for a good book to read… on your computer? Here’s a listing of over three dozen books available for free download under a Creative Commons license.
No gimmicks, no catch. If you like it… well, then, maybe you’ll buy a hard copy (if you’re able) so that the author will make a little money. If you don’t like it, no big loss.
All I know is that it’s making me lust after one of these even more than before.

I’m kidding. Sort of. Not really.
ShoeBuy is at it again, this time with 20% off your total order using coupon code VDAY07. I had seen this and tried to repress it (do I really need more shoes? well, maybe), but then Lauren was pretty enough to remind me about it, and then I thought, heck, maybe you really do need some shoes, and who am I to stand in your way?
Remember, free shipping and free returns, too. Places like ShoeBuy and Zappos have spoiled me for buying shoes online any other way.
Pretty, pretty shoes.
