Did you know that your local Starbucks sells coffee machines? I had no idea. But they do! And apparently they’ve just marked this little baby here down to $99 (half price). It’s not available online, but call or visit your local shop(s) to see if they have any.
The forum where I read about it was reporting that if only the display model is left, Starbucks is selling those for $75. And with any coffee machine purchase, they should be giving you a free pound of their coffee, as well.
Now, I know $99 is a bit steep for many readers here, but this is a commercial-quality espresso machine. An excellent deal if you’re a true coffee snob. (I’ll confess that if my husband drank coffee I’d be trying to find a way to justify this, but with me as the only coffee-hound in the house I just can’t do it.)

Hey, I hear Labor Day is coming up, or something. I don’t know. I just heard “holiday” and my thoughts immediately turned to… shoe shopping.
Right now you can take 20% off your total order at Shoebuy with coupon code LABORDAY07. The coupon is good through September 10th, 2007, and shipping/returns are always free.
They’ve got quite a bit on sale already, so maybe you’ll find something you simply have to have.

My hair always needs rescuing. In fact, I’m not sure… it may actually be a lost cause. But if this stuff 1) is free and 2) claims to rescue hair, who am I to argue?

The very pretty Jess writes:
A good friend of mine recently found out she is pregnant and is now looking for good carseats and strollers (particularly travel systems) and a crib. How do you find a great deal on baby items? Is there a better time than others to buy? It’s been difficult to find great prices on these items online or in stores, and we both prefer a GREAT price over just a “good” markdown. She’s leery of buying carseats secondhand due to safety concerns.
Since you are so pretty and kind and all knowing (well…almost), do you have any ideas on how to make having as inexpensive as possible?
Thanks, Wonderful and Knowledgeable Mir!

Do you see all of that gratuitous flattery? Isn’t she pretty?
I haven’t done an advice question in a while, so I may be a bit rusty, but let’s see what we can do with this. (more…)

I’m still adjusting to living in a college town. For one thing, I feel very old a lot of the time. Those darn whippersnappers are everywhere! For another, parking is a nightmare. Hmph.
But I’ve just discovered Campus Special, and now I’m feeling much more kindly towards all of those students. Because there are hundreds of online coupons I can print out and use around here, and as we all know, I likes me some coupons.
Not all colleges/universities participate, of course, but if you live in a college town, check it out. Savings may be just a click away!

You never know when you’re going to be hit by a bus and people are going to see those saggy, baggy, pitiful stretched-elastic panties you’ve been meaning to throw out. Think about it.
Right now at Jockey you can take 25% off your order with coupon code SUMMER7. The code is valid through September 30th, 2007, so you have plenty of time to figure out what to buy.
Just please, throw those old ones away already.

Hey hey hey kids, it’s time for another $10 sale over at Threadless! Looks like all of their regular, in-stock Ts are marked down to $10 through Monday, September 3rd. (Hoodies and such are more, of course.)
We pink puffy heart Threadless, ’round here. I am just waiting for them to reprint this one so I can get it for the kids. What?

Now through September 5th, 2007, if you shop at Smartbargains, you can take $25 off your $50+ purchase at checkout if you pay via Paypal.
You probably have some Paypal laying around, anyway. And what’s not to like about taking half off?

Sometimes I wonder if Amazon employs people whose job it is purely to monitor their sales trends and then put stuff on clearance when it’s not selling well. Because honestly I can see no other explanation for things like this beauty right here
.
Regardless, they’ve already started their big Labor Day Kitchen and Home Sale
over there, and there’s actually some good stuff on sale. And also, um, cat toilets
. So you know, something for everyone.

The very lovely Allison emailed to point my attention to this American Express offer (I am linking to the post she sent rather than directly to the offer, because that looks like an affiliate link and if you decide to do the deal, I’d like for the original poster to get a few pennies), wherein signing up for a card gets you a free round-trip plane ticket with your first purchase, or $250 cash.
Now you know that I’ve posted credit card bonus deals before, along with caveats about how you shouldn’t go opening new credit cards all willy nilly. You need to understand about credit scores and how your choices affect them before you decide to partake of a deal like this. But if you either need a credit card or your score is high/stable enough to withstand another open line of credit, this could be a great deal. (Especially with the cost of plane tickets being what it is right now. Ouch.)
It looks like the deal is good through August 31st, 2007. So you’ve got until Friday to decide if you want in. Thanks, Allison!
