And speaking of Vidsters. . .

If you decide that what you’re really after is a Vidster—and I would recommend that for a child under, say, 8 or so—check out this third-party listing at Amazon. They’re selling them for $24.97 and $5.99 shipping, which is the lowest I’ve seen in a long time.

(For an older child, consider this Aiptek digicam I wrote about yesterday.)

Bad at math, good at savings

So I got this email from Classic Closeouts that said Hey, we’re offering free shipping on every order for 48 hours only!

Then it said that the promotion starts today (October 30th), and ends on November 4th.

Math was never my best subject, but that one did leave me scratching my head a bit.

Regardless, use coupon code CJHALLO to ship your entire order there for free, regardless of size, for… well… for two to five days, I guess.

Tell Santa to take a look at this

Remember last year, when a bunch of us got deals on Vidsters? My daughter still uses hers, but I can tell that pretty soon she’s going to need something a little more advanced.

So today I ran across this digital camcorder, which is probably not what most of us are looking for in a full-featured digicam, but is certainly a great unit for a tween or young teen, or even an adult on a budget who wants something.

The reviews are good, at at $69.99 (42% off) you really can’t beat the price. Plus, if you buy it by October 31st, 2007, you’ll get 15 free cards from Shutterfly (a $32.85 value).

Decisions, decisions….

Hoist your bike, or something else

Every time I see this Racor bike lift go on sale I am every-so-tempted to buy one, even though we currently have plenty of room for our bikes in both the garage and the shed.

There’s just a small part of my brain that thinks that the next time the kids won’t stop squabbling, there could be a bit of evil joy in attaching one of them to such a contraption and hauling them straight up to the ceiling.

“I told you to STOP IT,” I could say, hand on the rope, sweet smile on my face.

Oh, come on. I’m not saying I would actually do it. Probably.

Toddler boot deal

It’s time to play Pricematching For Fun And Profit!

Today’s winners are those of you with a toddler who needs really good snow boots. Although this will be a pretty good deal for some other folks, it’s those of you with a toddler who wears an 8 or a 9 who will really clean up.

These Kamik Toddler/Youth Wow 3 Snow Boots are currently $24.89 at Endless for the red color, which means you can get them for $19.89 shipped.

However, if you need a toddler 8 or 9 (as these are the only sizes the two sites have in common), you can pricematch them here at Zappos where they have them for $60.95. The pricematch will get them for you for under $16.

(Remember: To pricematch, verify that Endless has the exact color/size combo you want, then place your order at Zappos online at regular price. Once you have an order confirmation number, call up and tell them you’d like to do a pricematch.)

I thought it was nice of them to offer such a good deal on red, which is good for either boys or girls. Usually those awesome prices only come on powder pink or green camo. Heh.

It’s a bonus 3-day O-Day

Again, I cannot help pointing out that I hate that they call this O-Day, as O-Day always lasts three days. But I will overlook this foible (except for talking about it just now, oops) because there are excellent savings involved. So.

Now through Wednesday, October 31st, enjoy O-Day savings of 7% off your entire order and $1 shipping at Overstock through that there link. The last few times they did O-Day it was over a weekend, so this is sort of an unexpected treat, as well as a better coupon than the Weekender was if you’re looking to buy something relatively small.

Enjoy your O-Day!

It was Colonel Mustard in the Library with a pipe

Want a free game? (No, it’s not Clue. That’s just what I immediately thought of when I saw this.)

Surf on over to Big Fish Games and download Mystery Case Files: Ravenhearst for just 99 cents. (Follow the directions there. You’ll be using coupon code RAVENHEARST99.) Offer is good through October 31st, 2007.

I’ve gotten some other Big Fish games on deals before and they’re loads of fun. And it’s hard to beat a game for under a buck.

(Thanks, Kelli!)

It really is better (cheaper) at The Bug

Looking for some ultra-cheap deals on clothes? Today’s your day to stock up at Fashion Bug.

Many items are Buy 1, Get 1 for $1, plus there’s $3.98 clearance, plus you can use coupon code 776189508 to take $20 off your $40+ order!

This is not my very favorite store in the world—you’re not going to find exquisite tailoring or huge attention to detail—but it’s an awesome place to stock up on t-shirts, camisoles, and other items you’d frequently be replacing, anyway. And at prices like this, you really can’t lose.

Now you wish I was talking about butter again

This one is just for the ladies.

Want to try OB tampons, and get cute little case to carry them in, too? Just go here. (Thanks, Kristin!)

It is taking every ounce of my resolve to resist making a juvenile joke here, so I’ll just stop typing now.

Because I’m baking bread today

My family has something of a love affair with butter. (You’re shocked. I can tell.) Now that the weather is cooling off, I’m baking bread more often. But I don’t always have the foresight to take the butter out of the fridge half an hour before my kids want to have a hunk of bread.

After doing some research, I determined that what I wanted to get was a “butter bell,” a butter dish you fill with water that can be left out on the counter. (The water keeps the butter from spoiling. Change the water every couple of days and the butter stays fresh and soft, or so the internet claims.) I figured that the cheapest place to grab one would be eBay, so I did some searching there, but guess what! I am not paying $20 for a butter dish!

And then I found this Norpro butter bell for $7.90 shipped. That I will do.

I shall have to report back on its butterliciousness. But in the meantime, if you’ve been searching for one of those, that seems to be a pretty decent deal.
