… over a Flip, that is, you might want to check out the deeply discounted Canon ZR700 MiniDV camcorder as a possibility. It’s got a 25x optical zoom and it takes those adorable little mini-discs, so you can keep recording without having to get to a computer to offload your content.

It’s currently down to $179.99 from around $500, and is a great option if you want something with a bit more control (I do love our Flip, but it doesn’t have a zoom function) for about the same price.

And I tried to think of a good way to tie kangaroo jerky into this post, somehow, but I just haven’t come up with anything. Feel free to pretend that I did, though.
