Chilly? Get fleecy!

For a limited time, DisneyShopping has reduced select hooded character fleece to just $10 each. (Scroll down on the main page to where it says $10 fleece to get to it—Disney does this incredibly annoying thing where the girl items and boy items are separated, so I can’t give you a direct link to everything, only one or the other.)

There’s adorable hoodie sweatshirts for the boys and hooded fleece ponchos for the girls. Cozy and cute!

Reminder: DVD contest

(Sorry for the lack of posts this morning… I’ve been spending some quality time at the orthodontist with my kid. You know, bonding time. They bond the brackets to his teeth, I bond my bank account to the orthodontist’s yacht… etc.)

Don’t forget that you only have until 3:00 Eastern today to enter to win either the Global Wonders DVDs or the Ozzy and Harriet boxed set. If you haven’t entered yet, what are you waiting for?

And just a reminder: Enter on the contest post. Not this one. Please.

For your Indiana Jones fan

As long as the girls are getting their hearts’ desire in the last post, I figured a bit of equal time for the boys was in order.

So, does your little guy fancy himself the next Indiana Jones? Check out this deal at Amazon. Theoretically, the idea is that you purchase both the sound FX whip and the Lost Temple of Akator Playset and save $25 on the pair—which is a nice deal, don’t get me wrong—but it actually works on just two of the whips, too.

And let’s face it, not only does that work out to be a better deal (2 whips for $18.98 shipped), but the whip is the coolest part of the whole Indiana Jones phenomenon. Obviously.

This would be a good one for the gift closet, too. Especially for a birthday party where you really don’t like the kid’s parents; while boys will love this toy, I imagine it’s extremely annoying for parents. That makes it a perfect passive-aggressive gift. You’re welcome!

It’s the most American Girl time of the year

American Girl fans know that they offer discounts just a couple of times a year, so it’s always exciting when they do. Get ready, because it’s that time again: Right now at the American Girl Store, take $10 off your $30+ order with coupon code 153302.

Now Coconut can get that collar he’s always wanted. (If you have no idea what the foregoing sentence means, consider yourself lucky.)

Because there’s no such thing as too much Crayola

Sometimes the best deals turn up in unexpected places.

Like this: Right now, Kohls has some great prices on select Crayola items (argh, having trouble with direct link… go to Kohls and search on crayola, if the other link is busted). Because when you think Crayola, you think Kohls. Or not. (Perhaps that’s why they didn’t sell…?) Anyway, shipping is currently $.99/item, which still makes for some decent prices, but Kohls cardholders can ship their entire order for free with coupon code MVC9750, and take an additional 15% off with (stackable!) code FALL15OFF. Not a cardholder? You can still use code NEW5127 for an extra 10% off.

Show me a kid who doesn’t like art supplies, and I’ll show you… ummmm… I’ll show you a day when Kohls isn’t running a big sale. Ha!

Maybe I should call it Free Shipping Tuesday

And the free shipping hits just keep on comin’….

I know we’ve had a few of these lately, but just in case you went hunting for a code and realized the last one had expired: Here’s a new free shipping code for Lands’ End! Because I care! And because Murphy’s Law dictates that a child will always outgrow everything just moments are all good deals and/or codes expire, because you were smugly believing you didn’t need to buy anything!

Through November 4th, 2008, use code SLED and PIN 3785. Because paying for shipping is for suckers, man.

Fly away with Tinkerbell!

Have a little one who’s fairy-crazy? (Hey, what’s not to like—there’s magic, there’s lots of pink, and there’s wings. That’s pretty much everything most little girls I know require.) Well, the new Tinkerbell DVD is out today, and if you buy it from Best Buy it’s just $15.99; or, buy it along with another select Disney disc, and you’ll get the pair for $30.

Wings not included, but still a pretty good deal.

Shipping savings, today only

The bad news is that in order to get free shipping today at Macy’s, you’ll need to get your order up to $75 to qualify.

The good news is that pretty much if you close your eyes and point at something, at Macy’s, you’re over $75. How convenient!

So: Today (October 28th, 2008) only, enjoy free shipping on your $75+ Macy’s order with coupon code CELEBRATE. (And actually, I kid. There’s lots on sale, and I’m a sucker for clearance clothing at Macy’s… particularly all the pretty, pretty dresses that I will never need to wear because I pretty much work from home in my pajamas.)

If you need more Amazon

I just realized that today’s deals are very Amazon-heavy. I’m not sure why that is. Either they’re starting to come through with a lot of good deals, or I’m just getting lazy in my old age.

Let’s not speculate on which it is.

Anyway, if you didn’t get your fill at last week’s Friday Sale, they’re having a One Day Kitchen & Home Sale that’s got a few notable deals. (I am still eying this Breadman Breadmaker….)

And if it’s toys you’re after, check out this Martian Matter Mega Set at 63% off. Squishy, gooey fun!

One is silver and the other gold

Today’s contest gives you the chance to win either a great set of new DVDs for your kids, or a great set of DVDs maybe you (or your parents) enjoyed as kids. One has new friends, the other old. One is silver… and you get the point, so I’ll stop, now.

Today you need to decide between the following prizes: Your first choice is The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet: Best of Ricky and Dave, which is a 4-DVD set spanning 24 episodes across the series’ run. Did you have a crush on Ricky when you were younger? C’mon, fess up—I won’t tell anyone. It’ll be just between you, me and the entire Internet. What?

Your second choice is a complete set of the new educational hit Global Wonders, a series of multi-cultural DVDs for your little one(s). This includes all four discs: Around the World, Mexico, India, and African-American.

For your chance to win, simply leave a comment on this post by 3:00 p.m. Eastern (noon Pacific) on Wednesday, October 29th, 2008. One entry per person, valid email address required, and to win a prize you must tell me which set you’d rather receive. Winners to be determined by random number generation and ability to spell Quetzalcoatl correctly. (I feel like there’s a flaw in that plan, somehow. I’m just not quite sure what it is….)

Ready? Go!
