Office Depot deals galore

Oh, Office Depot! You are so delightfully wacky, with your various deals and offers. Why, I can get a deal on a new chair or take 50% off bankers boxes or buy three cases of paper and get one free. All of which sounds pretty good, I have to admit.

And then, on top of that, I can use a coupon: 77242882 for 10% off or 17302226 for $20 off $100 (both of these exclude technology), or I can go through this link for $30 off $150+. Those are also great.

But I have to say, the pièce de résistance is definitely how I can use coupon code 58226915 to receive a $15 off a Butterball Turkey coupon with my $100+ order. That’s… pretty special, right there. Because everyone knows that office supplies and mashed potatoes go great together. Yes.

Winners of the Pinky Dinky Doo contest

The time came to select the winners of the Pinky Dinky Doo DVDs and my good friend the random number generator did something that I think made this contest a first: One of the winners is commenter number 1. I mean, statistically speaking, I knew it had to happen eventually. But it was still kind of cool.

We have five winners in all, and they are:

  • Claire (commenter 236)
  • Brenda (commenter number 1!)
  • Lauren S (commenter 158)
  • MelanieMarie (commenter 105)
  • … and last but not least, Nikki (commenter 229)

Congratulations to all of our winners! Ladies, please check your email and get back to me with your mailing address(es)!

Many thanks to all who played, and special thanks to our pals at Bender/Helper Impact for providing the prizes.

Didn’t win this time? More contests are coming up, so stayed tuned.

Because I’m not the only one with contests

Just a heads up: Work It, Mom! is giving away an Epson WorkForce 600 bundle this week, valued at $275. If I were you, I’d go over there and enter to win it.

Then again, we’re a family of four with three printers in the house. (It’s a long story.)

Stop looking at me like that.

I probably should’ve posted this first

So, with the last post having all of those gratuitous Ps in it, I probably should’ve done this O-themed post beforehand. Alphabetical, you know. Apparently I’m not smarter than a 5th grader. Or even a kindergartener. Shhhhh, don’t tell.

Anyway, it’s currently O-Day at Overstock.com, which means that if you go through that link you’ll automatically get 7.5% off of everything except media, and that’s so exciting that have to call it O-Day, even though it last for most of a week. (I don’t make the rules, okay? I just report on ‘em.) O-Day goes through October 27th, 2008, so, um, I hope you have lots of extra Os. Or something.

Be the house with the water park

There’s been a recent… I don’t know if I would call it a scandal, really, though uproar is not far from the truth… anyway… issue about Bonzai products and how they apparently Photoshop their product images to make them look much bigger than they actually are. Check it out.

However, folks are reporting that the Sidewinder Blast (which is currently down to 54% off with free shipping at Amazon) is actually pretty big—plenty big enough for multiple children to play on and love. And if that’s true, that’s a pretty sweet price for a whole lot of summer fun, right there.

Of course, I don’t need one of those because my idea of entertaining the kids in the summer is to throw popsicles at them and lock them out of the house. (Just kidding! I always hand them the popsicles.)

Special shoe savings, today only

Have one of those kids who excels at outgrowing their brand-new shoes two weeks after you buy them? I can’t save you from having to buy more shoes, but I can tell you that nicknaming said child “Flipper” will make you feel a little bit better.

Also, if you need shoes today, for one day only, Famous Footwear has over a thousand clearance items, plus you’ll save an additional 25% on ‘em with coupon code 1022SALE. Shipping is free on three or more pairs, and just $4.50 on one or two pairs. You may be able to pick up what you need, there, on the cheap.

And that’ll keep you going until the next growth spurt.

Reminder and an oops: Pinky Dinky Doo contest

Item the first: Don’t forget to enter the contest to win a Pinky Dinky Doo DVD before the deadline today (3:00 Eastern time), if you haven’t already. Remember, enter on that post, not this one.

Item the second: I had a brain burp this morning and accidentally deleted the last few contest entries, left late last night. I will try to send emails to everyone I inadvertently deleted to let them know to re-enter, but, um, many apologies, and maybe check to make sure your entry is still there if you entered last night.

Go Woot-Off, it’s your birthday

Well, I don’t actually know if it’s Woot’s birthday or not, but they are having a Woot-Off today.

For those of you unfamiliar with the Woot-Off, it’s when a new item is offered every fifteen minutes or so. I suggest you don’t click over for a look unless your schedule for the day is pretty clear—you may snap up a fabulous deal or two, but it can be addictive, watching for the next bargain.

This is a particularly good place to shop for that relative that you never know what to get. Trust me, something weird and wonderful will present itself today over at Woot.

Yep, Halloween is really next week

Still scrambling for a costume? eToys has free shipping & 30% off selected Halloween goodies through October 23rd, 2008 (that’s tomorrow), and there’s still time to ship ‘em without paying extra for rushing.

In unrelated news, if anyone who’s really good at sewing and cashing the checks my mouthiness wrote about “making a costume,” please come on over. Soon. Thanks!
