Buy more, save more

The end-of-season sale at Old Navy is still going strong (and by “going strong” I mean “appears to have plenty of items left, even though every shirt I was considering was available only in XS or XXL”), and through October 22nd, 2008 (that’s tomorrow!) you can save even more with coupon code GETMORE. That’ll give you 15% off your $75+ order or 20% off your $100+ order.

(But it will not make that cute shirt come back in stock in your size, darnitall.)

More Bakugan

Ah, so, apparently it’s not just Bakugan that our kids need. No. That would be too easy. According to my son, there’s also the coveted Bakutins.

The tins are news to me, but apparently they come with special super-secret ultra-wondrous Bakugan you can’t get, otherwise, and so they’re selling out everywhere. Already. I’m keeping my eye out for them in stock somewhere for less than a semester of college tuition, but in the meantime you might be interested in the Bakurack, which is currently marked down to $18.61 (free shipping eligible) at Amazon.

I’m sure my kid wants one of those tins, but he may just have to settle for the Bakurack. Which, honestly? I think is a lot cooler. You can remove a 3-Bakugan holder from the main apparatus and clip it to your belt! Woo!

Okay, shutting up now.

Pack it up

Been looking to replace your old luggage set, or have a kid going off to college or for study abroad? What you need is a complete set of luggage that will work for years without breaking the bank. (Alternatively, feel free to invest in one indestructible suitcase, but that will probably cost hundreds and you’ll still need additional pieces.)

I’m digging this luggage set at Kohls—not only does it have everything you need and comes in your choice of three colors, it’s marked down to just $49.99 for all five pieces. If you have a Kohls charge card, make it even better: Use code MVC8328 for free shipping and SAVE15BURG for an additional 15% off. Code NEW1913 works for 10% off for everyone, too.

Bon voyage!

Party in a box

Looking for a great new game to play at a party or on family game night? Check out Apples to Apples, which—believe me, I check regularly—almost never, ever goes on sale.

Except that right now it’s marked down to $17 and is free shipping eligible. So if you’ve had your eye on it (or want a great, fun game), you might want to grab it.

You can learn a lot about people while playing this game. Like that your friends are all really silly.

Like Indian food?

I’m going to preface this by saying that I do like Indian food, but I don’t use a lot of prepackaged stuff, and I have never used anything by Kitchens of India, so I have no idea if any of this is any good. (How’s that for a ringing endorsement? Mmmm, mmmm good!) However, most of these items have good reviews, so I’m going to assume it’s not too bad.

Anyway, here’s the deal: Eligible Kitchens of India items are currently marked down at Amazon, plus use code KTCHOF55 for an additional 35% off, plus sign up for Subscribe & Save (you can cancel it after your order ships) to save an additional 15%. It’s a great deal if you like these products (or even just want to try them).

I’m looking at the curry pastes. And getting really hungry.

Control everything

Well, I’m not sure how this does on the weather, or on children’s behavior (though what a seller they’d have there, if it did), but this Philips Universal Remote will control up to five devices, and is marked down from $99.99 to just $9.99 shipped at Buy.com.

I don’t knnow that it was ever really worth a hundred bucks, but it does allow you to pre-program some of your favorite channels and access them at the push of a button. This would allow me to be even lazier than I already am, which I think is a huge plus.

(At least, I think I think that. Let me take a nap before deciding for sure.)

A swinging baby is a happy baby

For those of you who missed it the last time this was marked down, it’s back for even less: The Fisher Price Papasan Cradle Swing is marked down to just $66.65 with free shipping at Amazon, right now.

There’s also a Cookie Magazine rebate available on your purchase, which will get you another $15 back—effectively making this just $51.65.

That’s a screaming deal on what is just about the highest-rated baby swing out there right now. (Not to be confused with a screaming baby, which hopefully you will not have if you buy this swing.)

Winner of the Lands’ End contest

Over 400 of you were clever and pretty enough to play along this weekend, and entries in the Lands’ End fleece contest came in fast and furious. Although my father is visiting and suggests I tell you all that he won (which would be interesting, seeing as how it’s a women’s fleece… maybe he wants to give it to my stepmom?), the random number generator has spoken.

Our winner is lucky number 34, Angie D! Congratulations, Angie! Please check your email, and good luck selecting which style and color you’d like to receive.

Big thanks to everyone who played, and especially huge thanks to Lands’ End for sponsoring the contest and supplying the prize. Don’t forget—today is the last day to place an order and receive free shipping with code OUTERWEAR and PIN 1013, too.

Another contest is coming up later today, so stay tuned!

Toy deals?

So, I was all excited about this new Monday Morning Toy Markdown thing at Amazon; last week there were some awesome deals. This week, I’m less impressed. But I’ll keep checking back.

About the only thing I saw that looked like a pretty decent deal was the Fisher Price Fun-2-Learn Computer for $35.99. Might be worth a look around, though.

Plus, last week they moved the prices all day long, so who knows! Maybe by lunchtime they’ll be selling all that stuff for $5! (Hey, I can dream.)
