Buy now for next year

Sure, everyone else is starting to think about jackets and boots and such, but not you. You’re smart. (And pretty. Have I mentioned lately how pretty you are?) You know that now’s the time to scoop up deals on what you’ll need next summer. Which means that if you or your kids enjoy knocking around the pool or yard in Crocs, you’ll want to go check out the buy 1 pair, get 1 pair free options—over 30 of them!—at Crocs.com right now. If that’s not great enough, you’ll also get free shipping.

Still not enough? Well, it never is, when it comes to the bargain, right? Okay, fine. Use code slx8797 to save another 25%. I hope you’re happy.

Summer’s end, finally ending

Doesn’t it seem like some of the end-of-season sales start, you know, at the beginning of the season…?

So, yeah, it does seem like the Eddie Bauer End of Summer Sale has been going on forever, but now it’s almost over. And if I’m not mistaken, they just did another round of markdowns. So it’s not a bad time to check it out.

Like their denim? They’re also running a special where buying a pair of jeans gets you a second pair at half off.

I’m still bitter that they discontinued my favorite pants fit, but don’t let that stop you. I’ll just be over here in the corner sobbing into my favorite cargo pants. Don’t mind me. No, really, go. I’ll be fine.

Squeaky clean teeth

Been looking for a good deal on a fancy toothbrush? The current Amazon Lightning Deal is an Oral-B Professional Care Deluxe toothbrush for $59.99 shipped (that’s about half off the MSRP). There’s also a current Braun and Oral-B offer going on where spending $149+ gets you a future $40 Amazon credit, so it would be possible to combine this offer with another purchase to really reap in the savings. Just sayin’.

Crayola-rama

Today’s Kids Woot is a tote chock-full of Crayola goodies for $14.99 and $5 shipping. Alert tipster Frank (thanks, Frank!) feels certain it’s close to $50 worth of stuff, so definitely a bargain worth having if you’re in need of kiddie art supplies.

Shipping is just $5 no matter how many you buy, so stocking up is the best way to maximize the deal. These would be excellent gift closet items for birthday parties, particularly when you consider that it would be plenty easy to break one tote into two or three separate gifts….

Tingly

My name is Mir, and I admit that I’m powerless over my addiction to… lip balm.

I have lip balm in my purse. At my desk. In my car. On my nightstand. I cannot stand having dry lips. Stop looking at me like that.

I recently received an eos lip balm “ball” (it comes in a round plastic case) and I love it both because it’s organic and tingly and because it’s incredibly easy to locate in my purse because of its size and shape. Also? It tastes like candy canes. (Yes, I’m 11, apparently.)

Want one for yourself? Eos is giving away 50,000 of them, so go sign up to get your free lip balm.

Just say no to chapped lips, and yes to free. (I should have that made into a bumper sticker or something.)

Don’t let your Wii eat batteries

In the beginning, there was the Wii, and it was good.

And it ate batteries, and that was not so good. So I bought the cheapest rechargeable batteries/charging station combo I could find, because I’m cheap, and… it didn’t really work. You had to peel the sleeves off every time, which was a pain, and the batteries didn’t seem to hold a charge. Which quite frankly was even worse.

And then we went to regular rechargeables, which meant we were constantly stealing batteries from cameras and remotes and such to feed the wiimotes.

But now, I’m picking up one of these Drop and Charge Stations where you don’t even have to take the skins off—close proximity is enough to charge the batteries. Today it’s just $11.99 shipped from Buy.com, which totally beats Amazon’s regular price.

And then maybe I can have my camera batteries back.

Winner of the Harumika contest

Whoops! While I was busy dying, there, I seem to have forgotten to pull the winner of this weekend’s contest. Sorry about that! (Also I didn’t run a contest this week, but I will try to make it up to you next week. And you didn’t want one this week, anyway, because it would’ve been all covered in germs.)

But hey, someone has to win the Harumika set, and thankfully the random number generator seems to be feeling fine.

And so our lucky winner is… commenter number 2, Amelia. Congratulations, Amelia—please check your email!

Big thanks to all who played, and special thanks to the folks at Harumika and their PR team at MS&L for their generosity in donating the prize.

More contests are always coming up, so don’t be blue if you didn’t win this time.

Why yes, I do have drugs on the brain

So, it appears that I’m going to live. But you’d better believe I’m eating about a billion milligrams of vitamin C every morning in a desperate attempt to boost my immune system. (Seriously, if I’m getting knocked flat with something flu-like in August, I fear I’m in for a very long cold and flu season this year.)

While stocking up on my favorite supplements at Drugstore.com, I discovered two awesome things. First, the Buy One, Get One Free on Vitamins promo is going on right now, so it’s a great time to stock up.

Second, remember when they used to have a Penny Item every day? It’s back! Until Friday, anyway. Limit one penny item per order, but still—one penny! Hard to beat, particularly if you’re already there stocking up on vitamins.

Awww, that’s so cute

So, one of the daily deals today at 6pm.com is that all Pro-Keds are just $14.95. Now, I don’t know about you, but I think of Keds and I think of white tennis sneakers.

But these Pro-Keds are totally different. They’re what happens when regular Keds dream about growing up to be Chucks, I think. Kinda snazzy.

I think my tween would approve. Then again, maybe she wouldn’t, simply because I kind of like them and that automatically makes them uncool. I don’t know. It’s all very confusing.

Snuggle in

Sure, today the sun is shining and the projected high temperature is 93 (well, where I am, anyway—positively balmy for Georgia in August!), but eventually the cold nights will return, and then you’ll be wishing you’d snapped up today’s Amazon Gold Box Deal: a microfiber down-alternative comforter set. Choose from twin, twin XL, or full/queen; regardless of size, $40 shipped gets you the comforter and matching shams, in your choice of three reversible color schemes.

That’s a good enough deal to get one for you and one for the guest room, even.
