Checking in on the dailies

Today is turning out to be One Of Those Days, so I thought I’d give you a slew of deals to keep you busy for a while. And you know how I love those daily specials….

Today’s Amazon Gold Box Deal is a 14-movie Alfred Hitchcock collection for $54. That’s under $5/movie, and who doesn’t love old Hitchcock films?

Over in the Target Daily Deals, you can make your skin smell like cheesecake (ummm… ewww?), or get yourself a shoe shine kit.

6pm.com comes through with another insane crop of shoe deals, including a wide assortment of Romantic Soles for just $14.95 apiece.

I’m pretty sure that an awesome pair of shoes would help compensate for the fact that you smell like cheesecake. Probably.

It’s secretly awesome

I’m not sure why it’s not being advertised more prominently, but right now at Catherines all of their Clearance items are buy 1, get the 2nd for $.49.

Make a good deal a screamin’ one: Use coupon code 777001264 to get $15 off of your $25+ purchase, too.

Remember, while Catherines carries plus-size clothing, they also have jewelry and other accessories which are one size fits all. Or maybe… one size fits all gift closets. Heh.

Plan ahead

Sure, this summer is over, but summer will be back again next year, and you’re going to need shoes (obviously). This week’s Deals of the Week at Crocs.com are girls’ and women’s Mary Janes (for $10 and $15, respectively) and women’s Cleo sandals (for $10).

I believe code secondchance is still taking off an additional 15%, and shipping should be free, as well.

And you know, as much as I generally think Crocs should be excluded from counting as real shoes for anyone over the age of 12… I kind of like those Cleos.

Oh, Santa!

Just in case there’s a Santa or a Santa’s helper in your life that loves to pick up a little something extra-special each year from Hanna Andersson—sometimes Santa brings us their incredible cozy, adorable, and durable pajamas as a very special treat—now might be a good time to do a little shopping. All regular-price merchandise is 20% off through November 15th, 2009.

And yes, I know. Even at 20% off, Hannas are a bit tough to stomach for us frugal folks. But I’ve never gotten anything from there I wasn’t able to resell on eBay (usually two children and several years later) for at least half of what I spent on it (and sometimes more).

Besides, I’m pretty sure Hanna is Swedish for OHSOCUTE.

More markdowns, and a birthday present

It looks like they just did another round of markdowns over at Banana Republic, plus there’s coupon code MYCARD available for card holders (looks like free shipping, no minimum, for Luxe card holders, and free shipping on $100+ for those with a Bananacard). Oh, and it’s Tuesday—have a card, get 10% off with code TUESDAYS.

Click through from there to Piperlime and get a $25 gift card towards a future purchase with any purchase, today. It’s their birthday, and it’s a present for you. Awfully nice of them, don’t you think?

And 1 in 100 orders will score a $100 certificate. I bet one of you will get lucky. I can feel it in my bones! (Then again, it’s rainy today, and I feel a lot of things in my bones when it’s rainy. I am old. It might just be that. But just in case it’s your good luck I’m feeling, happy shoe shopping.)

Coffee and suitcases

It’s been a while since I saw anything that piqued my interest in the Target Daily Deals, but today I think they’ve done it.

The featured deal is a cute little stack of cappuccino cups I sort of love, and then they also have a luggage set available that would be perfect for packing your things after you’ve actually drunk six cappuccinos and your family is wishing you would go on a vacation until the buzz wears off.

Not that that’s ever happened, here. Two cups of coffee and my kids are generally reminding me that it’s time to just say no.

There goes the day

A Woot Off on a Tuesday? I’m not sure I can handle the excitement.

I’ll try to pace my “refresh” finger. But you never know what you’ll find at a Woot Off.

More ways to get your game(s) on

It’s another video game special at Amazon—this time, it’s spend $80, get a future $40 credit on eligible games. True, for most of us, that’s more than we’re likely to spend… but if you have a lot of games in mind (or you’re buying games for multiple recipients), this may be a good way to maximize your purchases.

As for me, I’m not looking until I master the Rainbow Road on Mario Kart. So that would be… never.

Ham it up

Did you think I forgot to do a contest today? I didn’t forget. My Monday just sort of exploded unexpectedly. I think I still have some on my shirt, here, even. Sorry about that.

A little while back a nice lady from Cook’s Ham (warning: site has sound) contacted me to see how I feel about ham. I am extremely pro-ham, as it turns out. Though my daughter is a vegetarian, so you can imagine the hilarity that ensues around here when we eat it. (Woo!) (She especially loves it when I say, “Mmmm… pork fat” ala Homer Simpson.)

To further nurture my love of ham, I was sent a coupon good for one ham up to $30. That’s a lot of ham, y’all. Maybe you would like it? One lucky Want Not reader is going to receive this coupon, good through the end of the year, to redeem for a Cook’s Ham. Yum!

Want to win it? First go read the contest rules and regulations, then come back here and leave a comment on this post by 11:59 p.m. Eastern (that’s 8:59 p.m. Pacific) on Wednesday, October 28th, 2009 to be entered. Winner to be determined by random number generation and amount of drool produced by the word “bacon.” (Um. Ewwwww.)

Thanksgiving is coming. Christmas, too. Ham is awesome. Free ham is awesometastic!

Ready? Go!

Outdoorsy

My idea of a beautiful winter day involves temperatures in the 60s, but I realize not everyone shares my anti-snow sensibilities. I suppose the rest of you will be thrilled with Altrec’s Semi-Annual Sale—they’ve got ski and snowboarding stuff, among other things. All sorts of gear for playing outside. Where it’s cold.

I need a warm blanket and a nap, just thinking about it.
