I bought it anyway for my four year old because 1) he has been begging for a new wooden tool set since most of our Melissa and Doug pieces have gone missing and 2) the the tools didn't look very dangerous from the picture. They looked pretty similar to the M and D set with regard to safety. Karen, I noticed that too. Which seems rather odd. I don't know of many 10 year olds who would play with that, but I do know of toddlers who would be thrilled.
