Pop ‘em in their lunches

Okay, listen: every time I post a deal on Popchips I get a comment or two from someone who hates them and thinks they’re terrible. Different strokes, etc. I get that. If you love real potato chips and only real potato chips so help you God, you may not enjoy these. If you want an all-natural, lower-fat crunchy snack for the kids (or yourself; I actually sneak these all the time), and you’re okay with it not tasting exactly like a potato chip (because it’s not), Popchips may be for you.

That said, here you go: Right now at Amazon, they have 24-packs of Popchips marked nearly half off. Apply coupon code JANUPOPS for another 20% off, plus buy via Subscribe & Save for an additional 15% off and free shipping. The end result is 24 lunchbox-friendly healthy snack servings, for $8.62 delivered. (About $.36/bag.)

I stock up every time they have one of these deals, and then my kids complain bitterly every time we run out. It’s the circle of life Popchips.

I tried to resist, but failed

Watch this

Among other things, it looks like today’s Target Daily Deals are featuring about five different interchangeable-band watch sets for just $9.99 apiece. If you got in on that DealPulp deal from a few weeks ago, you probably have a $10 gift card burning a hole in your pocket, anyway. (Side note: If you didn’t get your $5 credit as a new customer on that one, contact their customer service to get it added. There was apparently a glitch and they’re granting it to folks retroactively if you ask.)

My daughter kills watches with alarming regularity, so I’m considering one of these for her as it would essentially be free. Any bets on how long it’ll take her to lose all the extra bands…?

If watches aren’t your thing, they also have a fairly impressive array of web-only dress deals, as well as cheap ballet flats. The free shipping on top of the sale prices is pretty sweet.

Hey guys, go watch football for a minute

This one is just for the ladies. And if tampon talk is going to make you squeamish, well, I think I see something shiny over there. Behind you. Okay.

Right now Amazon has either the Tampax Pearl 50-count Multipax or the Tampax Pearl 54-count Regular available on sale ($9.69 and $8.97, respectively). Both also have an available $2 coupon you’ll see on the page—just click on “Clip this coupon” to get it), and both qualify for Subscribe & Save for an extra 15% off and free shipping.

Combine those discounts and you’re looking at a final price of around a dime a tampon. Not bad.

(Hey, the deals can’t all be sexy and/or fun. Some items are just things you have to buy, and if I can find ‘em for less so you have money left over for the fun stuff, so much the better, right?)

Clear your schedule!

Awwww yeah, baby, it’s a Woot-Off! (And yes, they’re similarly, um, wooting-off over at Kids.Woot all day, too.)

I hope you weren’t planning to get anything done today.

(Curse you, I mean, thank you, Randi!)

Discounted clearance you would’ve bought anyway

You’ve gotta love it when Old Navy offers an additional discount, given that their regular prices are generally pretty reasonable and their sale prices tend to be awesome. Well, now you’ve got three days to really rock it out—you can take an additional 25% off anything already on clearance with coupon code ONEXTRA25.

Shipping is automatically free if your order reaches $50, otherwise it’s a flat $7. (Not that I’ve ever gotten out of there for under $50, but maybe you have more restraint than I do.)

Final hours for extra home savings

I can’t remember if I posted this before or not, and I’m too lazy to look right this second. Regardless, through midnight tonight, any purchase you make at Home Decorators Collection that exceeds $150 will have $30 taken off, automatically, at checkout.

And yes, that works even on items already on sale. Did I mention that everything in the Outlet is shipping for free, today? Because it is.

Can you see me now?

Another contest! Because it’s Monday and because you’re so pretty.

So here’s the deal: I have a HP HD-3100 TrueVision Webcam up for grabs. If your computer doesn’t have a webcam, you’re missing out! You can use it for video chatting, or—if you have kids, like me—you can use it to allow your children to entertain themselves for hours on end. Because nothing is more fun than a webcam, apparently. (No, I don’t really understand it, either.) This webcam even comes with the software that does all of the special effects the kids find so hilarious.

Want to win it for your very own? Of course you do! For a chance to win, simply go review the contest rules and regulations, then come on back here and leave a comment on this post by 8:00 a.m. Eastern (that’s 5:00 a.m. Pacific) on Thursday, January 27th, 2011 to be entered. Winner to be determined by random number generation and winning smile.

Ready? Go!

Winner of the Pride and Prejudice and Zombies contest

Hey, last week I offered y’all the chance to win what is quite possibly the coolest press kit I’ve ever received, a complete kit to accompany Pride and Prejudice and Zombies just in case you need to fend off your own Victorian zombie apocalypse.

Reactions ranged from delight to horror, but in the end, plenty of you were eager to win the prize. Ye olde random number generatorre (see, I spelled it all old-timey-like) has determined that our winner is… commenter 110, Michelle (who claimed in her comment that she’d like to give it to her best friend). (Wishing you were Michelle’s best friend right about now? Me, too.) Congratulations, Michelle—please check your email! Preferably before the zombies arrive!

As always, thanks to everyone who played, and special thanks to Quirk Books and their awesome helpers at 160over90 for this extremely awesome prize donation.

Didn’t win this time? Buck up, Buttercup! There’s another contest coming up shortly.

Prepare for aching ovaries

Some kids’ toys are so cute, they almost make me wish I still had a screaming infant. Which is crazy.

Well, I’m pretty sure neither of my (big) kids would be interested in this Manhattan Toy Snuggle Pod, but at just $8.50 I may have to pick up a couple for the gift closet. Yes, that is a baby-safe soft doll nestled in a pea pod. Yes, that is nearly unbearably adorable.

Okay, quick—someone go have a baby!
