Saturday deals

Happy weekend! Here’s a few deals to make your day even better.

Right now the back-to-school sale is on at eBags, and that means an automatic 20% off and free shipping on your $50+ order (some brand exclusions apply) when you use my link to shop them. They have plenty of backpacks and luggage and such, but I think this is the perfect excuse to buy a new purse. Ahem.

If you missed shopping Children’s Place yesterday, you can still save 20% on your order today with coupon code Z3E2011.

Tanga‘s got ESPN magazine today for just $4.99/year after coupon code ESPN. (Yesterday a few of you noted that you weren’t getting as large of a discount as I listed on your magazine subscriptions, and I’m not sure, but I think the discount may change over time or after a certain number of redemptions. So today I give you this disclaimer: right now that code is taking $21 off their listed price.)

This weekend The Limited is having their “last sale of the season”—use coupon code SAVE40 for an additional 40% off of absolutely everything. Shipping is free on your $100+ order, too.

Take 40% off of everything at The Body Shop this weekend; discount shows up automatically in your cart. Free shipping on $50+, too.

Have a great day and stay cool in this heat, folks.

Save 40%, but only for a few hours

Pssssst! Through 3:00 p.m. Eastern today, you can save 40% on regular-price items at Gap with coupon code GAPTREAT.

It cannot be used on adult jeans, uniforms, or backpacks. But everything else is fair game.

You’ve got about two and a half hours to shop, so get moving!

Better late than never, Friday

Woooooooooooo, this week is trying to kill me. Sorry to get here late, today. Let’s find some awesome deals so we can all forget how far behind schedule I am, shall we? Yes.

Buy 1, Get 1 or Buy 2, Get 3 is back at Puritan’s Pride! This is my favorite place to stock up on vitamins and supplements, and now they carry snacks and coffee/tea as well. It appears that things like bulk nuts and fruits fall under the bonus offer, so I may try them for things like almonds and figs, too. Yum.

I can’t seem to quit the Amazon Friday Sale no matter how lame it gets. But I guess if you needed any Earth’s Best Banana Apricot Stage 2 for your baby, around $.50/jar is pretty good.

Tanga has those as-seen-on-TV Wandarama things, today, for $8 shipped. I know it’s a piece of junk that works on static electricity, but for $8 I would probably still bite, because my kids are fascinated by them. They also have a subscription to Family Fun magazine (my favorite!) for just $10, but apply coupon code DISNEY and it drops to just $2.99. Sweet.

It’s buy early, save more time at Children’s Place—shop today for 25% off everything with coupon code Y3E2011. Right now all denim is shipping for free, and orders of $75+ ship for free, as well.

You’ve got your choice of discounts at Lane Bryant this weekend: Use code GIFTCKLB for $25 off $75+, or code SUMMERSALELB will take 40% off $100+ or 50% off $200+! Just keep in mind that some exclusions apply.

6pm.com has 70% off both Clarks and Crocs right now (something for me, something for them), which means I can shop for the kids and something wonderful may just fall into my cart for me. Ahem.

Enjoy your Friday, folks!

Buy a Kindle… for your textbooks?

I love this. No, I pink puffy heart this—now you can rent textbooks on your Kindle, which means the perfect indulgence gift for your college kid is now also the key to saving you up to 80% on textbooks!

Why, back in my day, we had to buy the books at the college bookstore. There was no Amazon! There was no choice! And my dinosaur complained when I loaded him up with all of those heavy tomes! Well, most of that is totally true.

This is almost enough to make me want to go back to college. Almost.

Stock your gift closet with learning

Oooooh, one of my favorite Kids.Woot deals is back—today they have a trio of Thames & Kosmos Little Labs kits for just $13 shipped! These normally run about $10-$13 apiece, so it’s like buying one and getting two for free.

Plus you can break ‘em up and bam, three birthday party gifts for less than what you might usually spend on one. It’s a lesson in economics on top of the other stuff! You’re totally smart in addition to being pretty.

Forget the kids; shop for you

Sure, you’ve been buying stuff for the kids, but today at Old Navy you have permission to just buy for the grownups. Today and tomorrow, coupon code ONBIG30 saves you 30% on all men’s and women’s styles, including maternity.

It’s like a sign that your kids have enough clothes, or something.

The code works on sale items, too. Might be time to go shopping….

Exercise your brain with Games

You know how I feel about Games magazine. (Hint: Love!) I received my first subscription at age 13, and it was quickly a love affair in progress between me and the cryptograms. (Yep. I was a giant nerd, even then.)

Whether it’s for you or your kid, I wouldn’t pass by Tanga today—they’re offering a one-year subscription to Games for $25. That’s not bad, considering that Amazon’s discount price (the cover cost is almost $5/issue) is currently $30. But this is Tanga we’re talking about, so go ahead and apply coupon code GAMES to drop the price to a cool $9.99. That’s about a buck an issue, or 80% off the cover price.

Okay; fine. Don’t like Games for some reason? (I bet you hate kittens, too.) Pick up Healthy Cooking, instead, and apply coupon code COOKING to drop it down to just $6.99 for the year. Or, heck, get both! You’re going to need some good eats to get you through all those cryptograms, trust me.

Attention war buffs

Is there a special someone in your life who thinks tanks are fascinating? Someone whom you keep around because they’re cute and always take out the trash when it gets full, so that kind of balances out the fact that they can talk for hours about Pearl Harbor? (Um, not that I would know anything about that.)

Check this one out: Right now Amazon has The World At War Blu-ray set marked down to just $40. It’s over 30 hours of award-winning documentary programming about—what else?—World War II.

I imagine this might be kind of awesome for homeschoolers, too. Just in case you don’t have a husband like mine. Heh.

Reminder: Veggie Tales/Totally Together contest

Don’t forget—you only have until tomorrow morning to enter to win a Veggie Tales DVD for the kids and a copy of Totally Together for you.

I can’t promise you’ll win if you enter, but I can promise you definitely will not win if you forget to enter. (That’s helpful, I know.) Make sure you get your comment in so that you have a chance to be the one who wins it all.

As always, make sure to leave your comment on the contest post for a valid entry. Comments left on this post shall be reserved for all redundant chit-chat of the “Hot enough for ya?” variety. (Our current heat index: 104 degrees. So wrong.)

You’ll be back to packing lunches soon

I know that some of you have barely begun your summer—not that I’m bitter, or anything, given that we’re back to school in just a couple of weeks, here—but you’ve got to check out this great Groupon for ReUsies today. $15 gets you $30 to spend on nylon-lined cotton pouches to tote sandwiches and snacks, and if you haven’t already said goodbye to baggies, this is your chance to go green on the cheap.

We already use bags like this, but I just noticed that in addition to the bags they have a custom drying rack, so I’m going to snag the Groupon and get the rack (saving us from sandwich wraps hanging all over the kitchen) and replace a few of our wraps that have seen better days.

And yes, I’m aware that my excitement over reusable sandwich bags may indicate I need to get out more. Ahem.
