Because snacking makes everything better

You may have noticed that Want Not has been experiencing quite a bit of technical difficulty over the last week or so. We are trying to whip the hamsters running in the wheels behind the scenes into shape, and thank you for your patience while do so. (Please note: This site isn’t actually run by hamsters, but even if it was, I wouldn’t hurt them. Much.)

By way of apology, I’d like share my snack with you. Recently a nice lady sent me a bunch of coupons for Riceworks brown rice crisps, and I was intrigued by their tagline, which is “Tastes Evil, But Isn’t.” If by “evil” you mean “terrible for you” then no, they’re not. But if by “evil” you mean “you might just eat the entire bag in one sitting if you’re not paying attention…” well, I think they may need a new tagline. Ahem.

My favorite so far are the Sweet Chili ones. Yum.

Anyway, if you visit their main page there, you’ll see a link to go to their Facebook page, where you can confess your snacking sins and get a $1 coupon. That’s pretty good, I guess, but one lucky Want Not reader is going to get five (5) coupons from me for free bags of Riceworks crisps, because the only thing better than snacks on sale are, of course, free snacks.

Want to win ‘em? Of course you do! First, review the contest rules and regulations, then come on back here and leave a comment on this post by 8:00 a.m. Eastern (that’s 5:00 a.m. Pacific) on Thursday, September 15th, 2011 for a chance to win. I’ll select the winner based on random number generation and crunchiness.

    Lise September 13, 2011 at 1:38 am #

These sound great. I recently went gluten-free and have been horrified by how expensive gluten-free snacks and flours are. I stand in the grocery store, gazing at displays of tiny boxes of crackers and cookies which cost more than Godiva-covered beluga caviar/black truffle clusters, and I don’t know if the products are really edible, or are cracker-shaped disks of tasteless, overpriced grains.. Mir, have you ever considered writing a post about your favorite gluten-free products? I know that your focus is usually on specific bargains, but saving clueless celiacs from wasting money on Inedible heaps of weirdness would be a great service.
