Hey, it’s October (I’m still trying to figure out what happened to September…), and that means it’s SIDS Awareness Month. This isn’t exactly a happy fun topic, but it’s an important one. I remember when my kids were babies, and it seemed like there were all these rules for things to do to reduce SIDS risk, but I was often left wondering if any of it really mattered.
Of course, new parents today have all kinds of great products at their disposal that didn’t exist back when I had babies. Like the gunapod, a soft, wearable, convertible blanket. I remember having a “sleep sack” for my son and he hated it—it wasn’t very soft, and I think it just made him too hot. But the gunapod is the ultimate wearable blanket; soft, cozy, can be zipped up like a sack or left open below for ventilation and foot freedom. Best of all, it’s a snuggly way to keep baby warm without risking a blanket winding up on baby’s face.
One lucky Want Not reader is going to win a gunapod! Interested? First, go check ‘em out: Visit their website to learn more, and check out their color and size options, and you can also follow them on Facebook and Twitter. Then, review my contest rules and regulations. And finally—after you do all of that—come on back here and leave a comment on this post by 8:00 a.m. Eastern (that’s 5:00 a.m. Pacific) on Thursday, October 6th, 2011, telling me what size/color combo you’d like to receive to be entered for a chance to win. I’ll determine the winner via random number generation.
Ready? Go!
