It’s time to Prime for the holidays!

Oh my pretties, the most wonderful thing has just happened!

Those of you who are Amazon veterans know that there are usually free Prime trials to be had here and there, and maybe over the years you’ve used various email addresses to make sure you had a free trial for your holiday shopping—after all, once those Lightning Deals start flying fast and furious, you’re going to want that free shipping. But they’ve tightened up and maybe you’ve already had a free trial on all your addresses, so now what?

Happy holidays—right now you can sign up for a free one-month Prime Trial and when you go through that link, you’ll have the option to choose an $8/month monthly plan. That means you can sign up today, and for just $8 next month, you can enjoy Prime all through this peak shopping season. Then if January rolls around and you don’t want it anymore, that’s cool, go ahead and cancel.

I think this will be $8 well-spent. [Edited to add: I tested this before I posted it, but folks are reporting it’s not being offered to ever account. I’m not sure what determines if you get this offer or not, but I’m looking into it.]

  1. I’m only seeing the $79 a month option. Where is the $8/month?? Is that only for “new” users?

  2. Not *everybody* gets the option, unfortunately 🙁

  3. Oh, hrm. I tested it and it showed for me under two separate accounts! I wonder how they’re determining who gets offered that option. Let me see if I can do some research and find out.

  4. Yep, I’m only seeing the $79 a year option… 🙁

  5. Going thru that link didn’t give me a free month. Bummer. Will just have to make sure I have all my shopping done by December 6th 🙂

  6. it’s giving me the option but when I click, nothing happens

  7. I just checked on a few email accounts and it only gives me the $79 a year option too. That would have been nice…maybe next time!

  8. I created a new email account and it gives me the one month free option, but I don’t see anything that says being about to pay for it monthly after that. I would have prime always if I could do it that way!

  9. It did not offer me any Free option, only $7.99 a month with the ability to cancel monthly…

  10. First time user with prime so I got it 🙂

  11. No free trial or monthly option for me. 🙁

  12. My other account has no free trial but does give the monthly option. Weird.

  13. Hmph, I don’t have a monthly option or the free one. 🙁

  14. Not seeing a free month (but then I just ended another free month trial from them a month or two ago, so I’m not holding that against them). I am getting the $7.99/mo offer, though, which is awesome.

  15. Worked for me! Thanks Mir. I’ve always wanted to try Prime for the streaming video option and kindle library, but did not want to commit to a year. Now we can try it for a couple of months then decide.
