I have switched to “hippie crunchy” laundry detergent over the last few years, but every now and then I do kind of miss the reliability of Tide. Sure, my detergent is better for the environment. But… I do miss not having to pre-treat stains. Heh.

Soap nuts. They are about as crunchy as you can get, and work better than any of the other hippie crunchy laundry products. And no plastic. I buy them by the pound. Rebekah — I hear you on the scented laundry detergent. That is one of the reasons I switched to soap nuts.
