Your daily Lightning Deals reminder

Yes, yes, I know, you’ve already got the Amazon Lightning Deals page open on your desktop at all times, right? No? Just me? Get with the program, people.

The wide variety of offerings continues to crack me up. Coming up in about ten minutes is a variety of high-quality tools (awesome if you’ve got a hard-to-buy-for fix-it type in your life), plus some jewelry and then the next crop of deals after that includes… a banjo. Yes. Because of course.

[Hey, here’s a piece of good news for those of you who’ve never been Amazon Mom members: The program has reopened! If you’ve never been a part of it before, you can sign up for three months of Prime for free, which will come in very handy through this, my favorite season. (No, not the holiday season. The Amazon markdowns season!) Just make sure to go into “manage my Prime membership” after you sign up and turn off automatic renewal, if you don’t want to pay. Also, if you’ve never had Mom Prime before, it’s fantastic because it gives you extra Subscribe & Save discounts on things like diapers/wipes, plus free Prime will change your life. And no, you don’t have to be a mother (or even a parent) to sign up. But if you have ever had a Mom Prime account, you will not be able to sign up for the free trial—this is just for those of you who are new to it.]

  1. It is also worth mentioning about Prime that you get to ‘borrow’ books if you own a Kindle, AND you can use their On Demand service, which is every bit as good, maybe better, than Netflix Instant. Both are included with Prime membership.

  2. Correct, but only with paid Prime membership. Though I will confess that’s what tipped me over into paying for Prime, this year. My Kindle and Roku have both benefitted greatly!

  3. Prime has been worth it for the free shipping alone. Seriously. I paid for more for two day shipping in the past than I do for prime!

  4. Amazon is disappointing me with the lack of Lego deals — I’m getting panicky over it. (and yes, you are the reason my house is currently buried in Amazon boxes.)

  5. Patricia, be patient! History suggests there’s a slew of LEGO markdowns coming the second week in December. They always wait for the pre-Christmas toy clearance. Those deals are coming, I would bet on it.

  6. First of all, thank you, Mir, for saving me for the third Christmas in a row by online shopping. You are so very pretty!! Secondly, there is a lightning deal for a Bosch Drill. It’s on sale for $149. Under it says there is a promotion for $25 off a $100 or more Bosch purchase. Would that qualify for the lightning deal too? At $149 its a good deal, but at $125 it would be a great deal.

  7. Yep, it will stack both savings. Good catch, Stacy!!

  8. Thank you!!! What can I say, I learned from the best. 😉

  9. Thanks, Mir! I love having free Prime for the holidays!

  10. Ooooh, NOW they have a RODENT TRAP! For all of my redneck family members! Woot! (Just KIDDING. About actually buying it. Not the redneck family.)
