Your daily reminder (once more, with feeling)

Okay kids; you know the drill! Be checking the Amazon Lightning Deals all day for great bargains. In just a few minutes there’s a deal coming up on a Philosophy Amazing Grace set. I have no idea how good the price will be, but I can tell you I adore that scent—nice and light and fresh.

There’s plenty of other deals in every department, too. One of the featured Gold Box deals today is The Complete Adventures of Indiana Jones on Blu-ray for just $39.99, today only. That’s all four movies, on five discs (extra included), and I think it’s about time to introduce my son to “Snakes. Why did it have to be snakes?”

  1. LOVE that scent! I’m still waiting for them to revive your sweeper-vac deal.

  2. I do hope people compare the normal Amazon price to the “lightning” price. The percentage off is from the MSR price, not from what Amazon usually offers it for. In most instances I’ve encountered, the lightning price is just a few dollars off their normal price — not necessarily a deal for an impulse purchase.

  3. Excellent point, Deb. Some of them are great deals, others not so much—hence my standard reminder to do some price research beforehand, or (at the very least) toss an item in your cart and then use your 15 minutes before the deal expires to figure out if the price truly is excellent.

Let’s face it, Amazon isn’t in business to sell us stuff cheap. The Lightning Deals are a carefully curated mix of genuine deals and nearly-regular-prices, because the theory is that you’ll get caught up in the bargain-mania and get stupid. Caveat emptor, always!

  4. Mir, if you go for introducing your son to “Snakes, why did it have to be snakes?” You should also get him the Indiana Jones Lego Wii game. Indie is terrified of snakes in it, and can’t function when one is around. My daughter and I giggled our way through that game! It was fun!

  5. Ohhhh, I don’t think we have that one! Thanks for the rec! 🙂
