For this particular batch of markdowns I feel compelled to preface with “caveat emptor”—I don’t usually post items with poor reviews, but I’ll leave it to you decide if you feel like taking the risk, here. Certainly these newer sets (which include plastic pieces) are not the heavy all-metal sets we grew up building with, and I don’t doubt that for younger kids, the assembly can be difficult and unforgiving. Would you be willing to purchase, anyway, at the clearance price? That’s up to you. Read the reviews and decide for yourself.

Look at it this way: Unlike the set I grew up with, what are the chances of needing to give your kid a lecture about lockjaw with these? Pretty low. And if you’re too young to get that reference, get off my lawn.
