So yesterday we were talking about this new annoying thing with Subscribe & Save where you only save extra if you have 5 shipments in a month. Total drag, granted, but I still find myself looking for ways to pad my monthly shipment with something I need anyway to make sure I get the best deal on everything. Ahem.
So as I’m putting together my orders, I figure dishwashing detergent is always a good thing to pick up—it’s not like I’m going to run out of dishes to wash—and so I started looking for a good deal on Finish tabs, because they’re my current favorite. I ended up adding a subscription to this 85-pack of Finish Powerball tabs because the current price of $13.87 is the lowest it’s ever been. And then when I end up with 20% off my S&S orders (once I reach 5 items), it’ll end up being about $.13/tab. Works for me.
[Edited to add: Thanks to Whitney for pointing out that they’ve now added a clippable coupon for $2.15, too! I canceled my original order—which hadn’t yet shipped—and reordered using the coupon. Even better!]
They’ve really been messing with Subscribe and Save anyway. It only ships out once during the month, takes longer to arrive, doesn’t allow you to add an extra shipment anymore. Sadly I’m finding things at the store that are less than the Subscribe and Save price too, or on other sites. I bet they drop it altogether soon. Kind of like the Friday Sale. (or whatever day it was)
I find myself working a lot harder to find the deals, but I’m still able to find good ones with enough hunting. Agree totally that it takes longer/is less convenient than it used to be, though. I’d be surprised if it goes away entirely, but I guess time will tell.
Hmm. I just finagled all my subscriptions to be in the same month and I only save 15%, not 20%…

I think you get 15% for 5+ subscriptions unless you have Amazon Mom Prime, in which case it’s 20%.

Nope, it’s been a long time since I bought diapers and wipes, and when I hit 5 items on S&S, all of them are 20% off.

Thanks for the heads up, Whitney! It looks like they added a $2.15 coupon to the mix, which is the one advantage of the S&S delay/bundling—I was able to go in and reorder with the coupon and cancel my previous order. 🙂
