Another gluten-free favorite of mine

Did Amazon somehow know that I was running low on Larabars? That was awfully nice of them, if so. Right now there’s a clippable 20% off coupon available on all the flavors they carry, and then of course you can save up to another 20% if you’re buying via Subscribe & Save and you have Amazon Mom, so you have to decide how you want to do it: You can only clip the coupon once, so if you want more than one flavor, you’re better off buying the “regular” way and getting 20% off of all. If you’re cheap like me and will settle for a single, deeply-discounted flavor, clip the coupon and buy via Subscribe & Save.

I went for Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, this time, and have a box of 16 headed my way for just $14.80 shipped. I just need to find a place to hide them from the kids….

  1. Save even more and make your own. Here’s a no-cook recipe modeled on Lärabars.

Although you can play with alternate ingredients, this recipe has almonds, figs, dates, almond butter, orange zest, vanilla extract, cinnamon, s&p, crispy brown rice. You just throw all the ingredients in to a food processor, press into an 8×8″ baking pan, cool, slice, and eat! Store at room temp or freeze.

Get the kids involved. They’ll love to knead the mixture with their hands and press into the baking pan. It’ll be finger-lickin’ good.

    • I love to have hermetically-sealed ones I can toss in my purse and forget about, but I’m always up for a DIY recipe for home. Thanks!

  2. me tooooo! I have three left and was planning on ordering some today. brilliant timing, thanks for the heads up!

  3. Sadly, it is only working on one package (not even multiples of the same flavor). Oh well… at least I got some!
