Go ahead, you can save even more

I’ll confess that I often sort of forget about JC Penney; not really forget forget, I guess, but when I’m looking for something it’s like they’ll occur to me and I’ll think, “Oh! Right! Why didn’t I look there already?” With their new pricing structure—more “regular low prices” and fewer sales—sometimes they kind of fly under the radar with good deals.

Anyway! Right now they’re offering an extra 15% off nearly everything (some brand exclusions apply) with coupon code GOAHEAD. I tested it on a sale hammock just to see if it would work on sale/large items, and it worked. (Woohoo!) Plus you can ship any order to a local store for free pickup, or orders of $75+ ship to your home for free.

It’s not a bad way to save a little bit extra on something you were probably going to buy anyway, is my point.

  1. I always buy my sons’ shorts for camp at JCP. I went there this week and wow…it looks amazing. Like a high end dept store. Gorgeous stuff.

    • It really has changed since we were kids! (Well, since I was a kid, anyway. I have no idea how old you are. I am approximately a thousand years old, of course.)

  2. I read recently that it’s changed CEOs and is trashing lots of the stuff the former CEO put into place; the article surmised that the “regular low prices” would be among the stuff to go. Just a heads up…there may be more sales in store! 🙂

    • Yep, after they fired the one who put those into place, they really are going to town on prices. 🙁 I actually liked the “no sales, lower everyday prices” thing they had going on while it lasted and shopped there more. Now, things like this are going on instead: http://consumerist.com/2013/04/30/what-in-the-world-is-going-on-with-the-prices-at-jcpenney/ . It just makes me sad that people didn’t seem to realize that “no sales, lower everyday prices” was actually a GOOD thing. (And they really did have sales, but they just called them “monthly specials” instead.)

  3. I always forget about Penny’s too. But jeans in the next size up for my girl are $8 after the discount so I just stocked up for school year. Thanks!
