Griddle me this

So it’s a good day to shop over at Kohls just in general; everyone gets $10 Kohls Cash for every $50 spent, everyone can use coupon code LOWEST20 for an additional 20% off, and Kohls charge card holders can use code SEEDS for 25% off. And every order of $75+ ships for free.

But on top of that, today only they have a bunch of Door Busters, and that includes $9.99 small kitchen electrics—there’s a $10 rebate available on the $19.99 price, plus you can use a coupon to pay even less. Some of the appliances aren’t that thrilling, but they have the Presto Cool Touch 20″ griddle and that’s got fantastic reviews and the price is certainly right (for reference: still $35 at Amazon with fabulous reviews). I own this griddle, myself, and use it all the time. I’m pretty sure I paid more than $10, too.

Shave it off, sonny

I would like to hereby place my vote for the abolishment of all “ironic” facial hair. It’s not hipster, it’s weird. Stop.

Here, let me help: Right now Amazon has this Panasonic ES-SL41-S Arc 3 Wet Dry Mens Electric Razor available for just $39.99—its lowest price ever—plus there’s a $10 coupon to clip on the product page, making it a cool $30.

If you check out the model comparison chart you’ll see that this is a mid-range model, and the last of their Ni-MH line before moving up to Li-Ion, so it’s not the latest-greatest-fanciest by any means, but for $30, it’s a pretty nice shaver.

Always have a spare bed

In the market for a quick spare bed for home, or a more comfortable way to camp? For some reason right now this queen-sized Coleman Quickbed is down to $16.99 at Amazon right now—its lowest price ever. (The twin is down to $14.99, which is a decent price, but the full and king versions aren’t reduced.)

Reviews are mixed, but at this price, it’s probably worth a shot.

I’m coffee-conflicted

On the one hand, I own a <$100 coffeemaker and it suits my needs just fine. It... makes coffee. It keeps the coffee warm. If I'm organized, I can even set it up the night before and the coffee will magically brew for me in the morning. That's really all I need. And the idea of spending hundreds or even thousands on a coffee making machine seems crazy to me.

On the other hand, my parents have an espresso machine that's super-fancy and makes really, really good coffee. I have no idea what it cost (I am afraid to ask), but I do enjoy visiting them a whole lot. (Not just for the cappuccinos. But it doesn’t hurt.)

And then on the third hand (you mutant, you, with your third hand), today’s Home.Woot offering is a reconditioned Saeco Intellia Automatic Espresso Machine for $400, which I dismissed as insane until I saw that this machine retails for around $1200 new, at which point $400 seemed like a real bargain.

Long story not much shorter: I’m afraid I can’t justify buying one of these, but if you’re in the market, apparently it’s a really good deal. Please invite me over for cappuccino after you get it. (I’ll bring cookies!)

For quick clean-ups

I try to stay fairly eco-friendly, earth-conscious, tree-huggy, etc., and when I’m doing a lot of cleaning, yep, I get out the vinegar and the washable mops and cloths and all of that, sure. But sometimes you just need to do a quick clean-up, or sometimes you want to turn your children into slave labor make it easy for the kids to pitch in, and that’s when I confess I really like Lysol wipes. (I will go hug an extra tree, now that I’ve admitted this.) Right now Amazon has this 240-wipe jumbo three-pack of Lysol wipes for just $9.97 with an available 15% off coupon, plus if you buy via Subscribe & Save you’ll get free shipping and save even more. Your total will come to $7.48 with the coupon and 5% S&S discount, or even less if you’ve hit your 5+ monthly subscriptions.

If you don’t need ‘em for you, these are great for donations, too—your local schools and shelters will happily take them. At this price, why not?

Work out, stay dry

Have guys who like those athletic shirts that are supposed to wick away perspiration? I like those shirts, too, but I sure don’t want to pay full price for ‘em. Right now Amazon has two colors of these Champion Men’s Powerflex Core Tees for just $7.67 apiece, in sizes from small all the way up to XX-large.

That’s only a couple bucks more than it’d cost me to root out some used ones at Goodwill. I don’t know if this is a discontinued style or what, but Champion is a great brand and I like that they only do a tiny logo rather than splashing their name across everything.

I’m a sucker for Indy

I grew up on the Indiana Jones movies, so you’ll have to excuse me for having a soft spot in my heart for them, even though I hand nightmares about that one villain from the first movie getting melted for several years. (What? It was scary!)

Today’s Amazon Gold Box Deal is the complete movie set on Blu-ray (that’s all four movies, plus 7 hours of special features!) for just $29.99. It’s never been priced lower, and if Harrison Ford with a bullwhip doesn’t make you go just a little weak in the knees, I don’t even know what to tell you.

Don’t ask why, just control your drooling

I was looking at a sale at Godiva yesterday (and salivating a little…), but sort of feeling like shipping killed it. Now, today, I see that this signature gift basket is the same sale price at Amazon—$24.99, down from $60—but is free shipping eligible.

Why? I have no idea. All I know is that $25 for nearly a pound and a half of gourmet chocolate in pretty wrapping is a steal. Maybe you need a gift. Maybe you’re just hungry. I don’t judge.

The best indoor hoops are back!

This is always a very popular deal when the price drops to just $15, like now—this SKLZ Pro Mini Basketball Hoop is pretty much the Cadillac of mini indoor basketball, with the reviews to prove it. Why spend the same amount of money on a Nerf ball and flimsy plastic over-the-door hoop when you could have a miniature of the real thing, right down to the breakaway steel rim?

Now that spring is arriving you could actually play basketball outside again, but this would be a great purchase to tuck away for next winter.

An offer you can’t refuse

If you grew up watching the Godfather movies—or, alternatively, feeling very grown-up once you were finally old enough to watch them—here’s a deal even better than when it was a Gold Box deal a while back: Amazon has The Godfather Collection (Coppola Restoration) Blu-ray set available right now for $19.99 (Prime or SSS eligible). That’s all the movies, commentary, extras, etc. Basically it exceeds your daily lifetime dosage of Brando, is what I’m saying.

If you’ve never seen these movies (sacrilege!) you should probably buy them. And if you haven’t seen them in a while, well, you still need ‘em—the snow will be back next year and surely there will be a weekend when you’re trapped inside and need a little old-school mob violence to get you through.
