Hey, I realize the Wii isn’t the only gaming system out there. Maybe you have an XBox or a PlayStation. Maybe you don’t know the joy of bowling in your family room. That doesn’t mean you should miss out on the good deals!
Here’s one for you, non-Wii-ers: Right now at Circuit City, select XBox and PS3 games come with a $20 gift card to be used on your next purchase. Not bad at all, if they have something you want and you tend to shop at CC, anyway.
I mean, I guess. You still can’t bowl in your family room, though. I’m sorry.

Goooooood morning! Don’t forget to check the LL Bean Thursday Morning Markdown—today it’s insulated comfort mocs for just $15.
I’m not sure they meet my definition of “cute shoes,” but I feel warmer, just looking at them. Sometimes style has to give over to fleece lining, I guess. I mean, if you don’t live in Georgia.
Ordering? Don’t forget code 3004296 for free shipping (and don’t forget that it gets put in the “Promotions” tab at checkout).

September 24, 2008 | Contests
Most of you were very good at following the directions to enter the contest for What’s a Dame to do? Only one person had to be taunted, and I’ll confess that I did it half-heartedly.
Regardless, over 300 of you were vying for three games, so there are going to be just a few of you who are disappointed. I’m sorry. On the up side, you’re looking very fetching today. The random number generator has chosen three winners, and here they are: Congratulations to Linda (commenter 300), Susie (commenter 7), and Gretchen (commenter 194)! Please check your email, ladies, so that we can get your prizes out to you!
Big thanks to all who entered, and enormous thanks to the awesome folks at Games for Dames, who not only were kind enough to donate the prizes, they’re also extending a special discount to Want Not readers! Place your order for What’s a Dame to do? by September 28th, 2008, and you can use code wantnot to save an additional 20%. Very, very cool. I would totally invite those people to Girls’ Night Out.
Didn’t win this time? Don’t panic! There’s always more contests coming up. But please do consider this your reminder that you need a night off. You’ve earned it.

Don’t forget! You’ve got just about an hour left to get your entry in for the contest to win What’s a Dame to Do?. You’ll be a very popular gal on Girls’ Night Out with this one, I bet.
So go! Enter! On that post, not this one. If you enter on this one I have to taunt you, and that’s fun for me but doesn’t win you anything.

Do you have Amazon Prime? If you do, this one is not for you. Also, if you’ve had Prime in the past, this is also not for you. This is for folks who have never had Amazon Prime before.
If you don’t know what Amazon Prime is, it’s a paid upgrade, basically, that entitles you to free 2-day shipping regardless of order size on thousands of items sold by Amazon. Even though I do a lot of shopping on Amazon, I’ve never signed up for it. I just couldn’t justify the $79 for the year.
But I just signed up, and here’s why: Right now, you can get 3 months of Amazon Prime absolutely free
if you put $100 worth of eligible textbooks into your cart. Not if you buy $100 worth of eligible textbooks—just if you add them to your cart. Put $100 of ‘em in there, proceed to checkout, and on the last page you’ll be given the option to opt-in to a free 3-month trial of Prime (independent of confirming your purchase). Cancel before your three months are over (or go into your account and just turn off the auto-upgrade) and you’ll never pay a cent for it.
Now, I ask you: What is three months from today? That’s right. Christmas Eve. Your holiday shopping just got a whole lot less stressful.

Today’s Gold Box Deal at Amazon is The Mel Brooks Collection on DVD. That’s eight fabulous Mel Brooks films for just $39.99, and if you don’t think Young Frankenstein is one of the greatest comedies of our time, well, I don’t think we can be friends anymore.
(Unless you prefer Blazing Saddles. I might allow that.)

My local grocery store does this “penny item” promotion each week. Spend $10+, and get their “featured item” for a cent. I always buy it, no matter what it is. Why wouldn’t I? It’s only a penny!
So you can imagine my excitement when I discovered that Drugstore.com is doing a penny item promotion this week. Except, this one is way cooler than my local grocery store—there’s an entire list of items from which to choose, and there’s no minimum purchase necessary. Only one penny item per account, but still. It’s just a penny! You probably needed some stuff from there, anyway.
(It’s possible I’m a little too excited about this, but c’mon. It’s Wednesday. You can get something for a penny. Just humor me.)

Guys, look away for a minute. Please. Just for a minute. Okay, thanks.
Ladies! Ever tried the Target version of Spanx? They’re called Assets, and you can get a free pair here.
Not that you need them. You look fabulous, dahling!

The nice thing about all of the coupon codes for Restaurant.com is that no matter how often you use them, chances are you’ll get hungry again eventually. See how fortuitous that is? So even though I probably just posted one of these a couple of days ago, here’s another one. You’re welcome!
So, take 60% off your purchase at Restaurant.com with coupon code FALL, through September 30th, 2008. That’ll get you $25 worth of dining for just $4. If you’re unmoved by that sort of deal, well, I don’t think I can help you.

It’s that time again—Eddie Bauer is offering free shipping on all orders, today and tomorrow, using coupon code FALLSHIP8. That’s the good news.
The bad news is that it doesn’t work on clearance items. Boo. But it does work on sales/specials. So you could still score a deal.
(Hey, I don’t make the rules, I just report ‘em.)
