Do they still do the Publishers Clearing House thing? I remember being a kid and feeling a little thrill whenever that envelope declaring “You may already be a winner!” would arrive in the mail. (My mother let me fill them out for her and send them back. We may have already been winners, but we never actually, you know, won.)

It is my 10th anniversary this month. I have been trying to convice people that it is the perfect time for another bridal shower because the towels, sheets, pillows, etc. etc. etc. that we got from the first one were used to the end of their domestic little lives and replaced by cheap ones we had to buy ourselves which have also now been killed by their own usefulness. My convincing isn’t going well. Wouldn’t it be nice to throw myself a little shower? More cake for me too this way. So I went and I entered… now I will go off and fantasize about linens. Sometimes I get sucked into the various magazine sweepstakes and giveaways (Parenting, BHG, etc.), but there’s so many that it’s actually a bit too time-consuming. You know, unless they were to give me enough money to pay for everything I want for the rest of my life! 😉
