I’m kind of laughing at how gardening is so trendy now; a local furniture store is giving away garden trowels (they’re calling them shovels, but I know the difference) to anyone who brings in their current ad.
Thanks for reminding me! I saved up some empty egg cartons, now it’s time to plant seeds in them. And hopefully they’re not all eaten by a massive, freakish slug infestation like last year.
Oh my gosh, Brigitte, you are my hero. I’ve been digging around for any weird unused item around the house to use for seedlings, and it never even occurred to me to use egg cartons! Jen am dum. On the bright side, I do have a bazillion basil seedlings that are just waiting to go outside as soon as it STOPS SNOWING.
I need a good laugh!
We gambled and have put nearly everything we were going to plant (which wasn’t a terrible lot) in the ground… now we are just keeping our fingers crossed that we don’t get that Spring frost!!
This has very little to do with gardening, but I am looking for an opportunity to share it with you and so am PRETENDING it’s related.
Yesterday, my 3-year-old daughter saw a kid riding his bike near our front lawn. She immediately yelled at him, “YOU! STAY OFF MY GRASS.” I am not kidding. She picked it up from my mother, I am sure, but I immediately thought, “Oh, Mir’s gotta hear about this.”
The old ladies, they get younger and younger every year.
