You people are adorable. I mean, I see pincushion patterns and I’m all, “What, now? My pins need… cushioning? And I have to make it myself?” But this is largely because I once sewed my finger to a button. (It’s a long story, and I don’t like to talk about it.) But you, you are crafty! And you love free Heather Bailey stuff! So I’m here to make all of your cute pincushion dreams come true.

The random number generator has spoken thusly: The winner of the turtle pattern and kit is commenter 102, Sonya! And the winner of the pear pattern and kit is commenter 31, Laura. Congratulations, ladies—please check your email!

Big thanks to all who played, and special pink sparkly thank-you dust going out to reader Crissy for her generosity in donating the prizes.

Didn’t win this time? The next contest is coming up this afternoon, and will have multiple winners who will be highly entertained by their winnings. That’s all I’m saying for now.

  1. You may have sewn your finger to a button, but have you ever sewn something to the clothes you are wearing… while also wearing the new piece over the top?

Hint: buy a dressmakers dummy, dummy! (hee hee!)

  2. Hmm, I’ve sewed things to my pants before. Not to my actual flesh, though.
