I have this little game I like to play with myself in September, ever since I moved to Georgia. It’s called the “I choose to believe that any day now it is going to stop being in the 90s every darn day” game. It’s delusional, and I like it.
Nevertheless, Fall will arrive eventually. And when it does, I shall triumphantly bust out my fluffy duvet, ready for cozy nights cuddled up with my husband, when he turns to me and whispers seductively, “Must you put your freezing cold feet on me, really?” (Don’t be jealous!)
Anyway. I’ve been shopping for a new duvet cover, because our old one is finally ready to retire. So I was just browsing the duvet cover sets at Overstock and totally impressed with the variety of options they have (at totally affordable prices). Maybe you need a new duvet, too? Most of them are one price for any size, which is a particularly good deal if you have a king-sized bed.
And now I’m ready for the Fall that may or may not ever arrive.
I play that same game, every day……
It’s cool here! Love New England in the Fall — yes, I know it’s not officially fall, but the kids are in school & that’s all that counts!
Practically everyone I know and I play that game, too! People call us “Southerners.” 😉
I can’t use quilts and heavy blankets and duvets, although my decorating heart would love to. 🙁 My husband is just a blaring furnace the entire year, so unless he’s not around, I don’t get to use anything other than a light sheet or light blanket.
Here’s something to really be jealous of: My husband often turns to me and asks, “Are your hands and feet cold? Do you need to put them on me to warm them up?” Really, truly, he does. *nods* And when we’re snuggled in bed for the night, he allows me to put my cold feet right on his legs or under his bum, as long as I give him fair warning. I’m not sure why he’s so nice to me, but I kind of like the guy. I think I’ll keep him. 😉
Sweet! I just scored a duvet cover for my munchkin’s new Fancy (a la Nancy) room. She doesn’t need anything heavy, so I’m just going to put one of our plain-jane blankets into it. But it will be heaven for getting her to make her bed.
