If you’ll be shopping for Lego this holiday season, you might want to start… this week. Right now you’ll notice that the lead sale at Toys ‘R’ Us is 30% off select Lego sets—which is as low as some of the new ones will go this season—but it turns out that Amazon is price-matching most of those deals.
Hey, buy from TRU if that works for you. But for most of us, we’ll save tax (and get quicker shipping) direct from Amazon. So. Your choice!
Just a few of the deals’ direct links at Amazon….
Ninjago Skull Truck for $42
Space Center for $49
Castle King’s Carriage Ambush for $28
Worth a look, for sure. I think I’m going to have to start installing Lego bins on the ceiling pretty soon, though….
They have the Lego Star Wars Advent Calendar back in stock at Amazon….
Mir and/or other lovely readers,
Is 4 too young for Lego sets? The rocket set looks like fun, but I’d like to minimize the “It’s too hard! I can’t do it!” flip outs. Any advice from other moms of boys?
My four year olds need lots of help putting togethersimple legos and it irritates me to no end when they disassemble a $50 lego their 8 year old brother just put together,,,,,,, They are so expensive,,,, but i guess that is just part of the lego phenomenon? Put it together once and throw pieces in the lego container once it is disassembled…..
Mandy, my youngest just turned 4 and is totally into legos. I do have to help him build them, he usually finds the pieces for me and I snap them together. But you will be surprised at how quickly he’ll start doing it himself. There are also age ranges on all the sets, so you could start with the younger ones or the smaller sets.
Kim took the words out of my mouth, Mandy. Check the age range on the package to find sets he can most likely handle with minimal help. At that age, my son appreciated the “big bucket o’ pieces” approach more than the sets, but that changed over time.
Thanks, everyone! I think Santa will be bringing some this year.
