Longtime readers know that I have never been a fan of violent toys. My children have never been allowed to have guns or swords or anything like that, because I’m kind of a hippie. Well. Two things have happened recently: First, my son’s school did an entire unit on Medieval Times, including making weapons and learning how to (safely) spar with them, and second, my teenager has been very busy, um, being a teen.
So. I am now totally an advocate for violence. (Kidding! Mostly! Please don’t call DCFS!)

My two boys are pretty much out of Nerf now, but for YEARS they loved anything Nerf. They would take our gameroom, move all the furniture and tables to the sides, and have Nerf wars. Memories – that room would stink, stink, stink, afterwards due to closed doors, a couple of hours, and intense teenage boys taking their “war” seriously. Lots of fun and laughter though. Nerf is great!

Welcome to the dark side, we’ve been waiting for you…LOL. My sons, nieces, and nephews of all ages used to have crazy nerf wars in my house. Now they just stare at their smartphones and laptops. Miss those nerf days.
