Jennie Walters’ Swallowcliff Hall trilogy of books is being called “Downton Abbey from the servants’ perspective,” and you can snag all three books in their Kindle versions on Amazon today for a special price: Polly’s Story, Grace’s Story, and Isobel’s Story are all just $2.99 apiece.

I have not yet been sucked into Downton Abbey—though I hear it’s fantastic—because I already watch too much television as it is. I may just snag these books, instead.

  1. Psst! Just checked, and they are $2.99 at BN.com for Nook books too!

  2. OMG. You need to get sucked into Downton Abbey.
Such an awesome TV show, and thats coming from someone who NEVER watches TV.

I love historical fiction so I’ll be picking these up as well.

    Thanks Mir!

  3. It’s the BEST show!!!!

  4. I’ve avoided Downton Abbey for the same reason. I just picked up all three books though.

  5. Oh, I LOVE my Downton Abbey! PBS cuts out parts of the original UK series, though, so if you ever decide to watch it, do so on Netflix. (All of season 1 is available there.)

  6. Thanks for the Netflix tip, Julie! My parents love the series (dad is Welsh so he’s into everything BBC) but I couldn’t get into it- I think bc I missed season 1. Will have to get caught up!! Tempted on the the books too, sounds interesting Mir!

  7. Gosh, thanks, Mir! Just found your site when having a wander round the net in search of references to Swallowcliffe Hall (as you do). Hope anyone who bought the books is enjoying them, and that the second series of ‘Downton’ is going down well in the States. Will bookmark your site – it’s really interesting…
