Much better than real bugs

I have to admit that I didn’t really “get” hexbugs when they first came out. Plastic bugs that move around like real bugs? Whaaaa…? I didn’t see the appeal. Then again, I don’t much like bugs.

But the thing is that hexbugs are 1) not real bugs (much less ikky) and 2) really kind of fun to watch, because they’re tiny robots. The ones my son owns figure out alternate routes and react to obstacles and all kinds of neat things. So! If that piques your interest, go check out today’s Kids.Woot, because they’ve got a sweet Hexbug Nano habitat bundle today for just $19.99 plus shipping. (For reference: Just a single hexbug at Amazon will run you about $6.25, so with two bugs in the set figure you’re paying practically nothing for the habitat.) You get two bugs, plus everything you need to build a big habitrail-esque space for them to play in.

Warning: You may even play with these when your kid is at school. Just letting you know.
