Not actually ponies

Did you know that My Little Pony now has a line of dolls called Equestria Girls, which is basically a way for the Pony folks to slap horse ears on fashion dolls and brand them alongside the ponies? I mean, I assume that was the deal. They’re kind of cute, though.

Here’s a bunch of price drops on ’em at Amazon:
My Little Pony Equestria Girls Rarity Doll for $7.99
My Little Pony Equestria Girls Celestia Doll and Pony Set for $11.24
My Little Pony Equestria Girls Twilight Sparkle Doll and Pony Set for $11.24
My Little Pony Equestria Girls Rainbow Dash Hairstyling Doll for $11.97
My Little Pony Equestria Girls Sunset Shimmer and Twilight Sparkle Figures for $18.74

I’m still kind of confused about the ears, though. Are they girls? Horses? Girlhorses?? Did one of the My Little Ponies have an illicit tryst with a Monster High doll? Toys are confusing.

  1. Just when my daughter has finished collecting MLPs, they go and launch this new line of Equestria Girls MLP. Evil geniuses they are!

  2. My thoughts exactly, Linnie! Mir — the Equestria Girls are the MLP characters in human-ish form who live in a parallel universe. I am not joking. My Little Ponies and parallel universes. And my kids bought it, hook, line and sinker. My mind boggles. Though, I was pretty sure the Care Bears actually existed, too, so I shouldn’t scratch my head too hard. 😉

  3. They are a TRAVESTY!!! Ugh!! Even my girlies disapprove of them – without any input from me. 😉
