Alice can only sleep in a blue room, which is potentially bad news for her parents, I suppose, but excellent news for those of us who love a beautifully illustrated children’s book. The publisher’s recommendation is for ages 4-8, but I’m going to say it’s really best for more like 2-6. Regardless, it’s a gorgeous book and a sweet story, and I have a hardcover copy sitting right here on my desk, hoping to go to a home with little kids (“This is a nice book,” commented my daughter, “for babies,” she concluded, lest I somehow damage her tween cred because she’d expressed anything other than disdain, at first.)
