I tried really, really hard to hate Spongebob Squarepants. I mean, he’s insipid. He’s inane. He lives in a pineapple under the sea!
But it was not to be. I find him hilarious, against all of my better judgment. Alas.
If you (and your kids) do, too, you might be interested to know that I have a copy of the Spongebob’s Pest of the West DVD sitting here, just waiting to go somewhere it’ll be properly appreciated. Could it be to you? Maybe!
For a chance to win this DVD, leave a comment on this post before 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, April 20th, 2008. One comment per person and all that jazz. Winner to be determined by random number generation and electric jellyfish.
Go!
Oh my, could I be the first comment? ust so happens my beloved nephew has just arrived to NJ for a visit from AZ and he happens to be a Spongebob fan.
Common on random generator …. pick me ALREADY!!!
It’s for Dashiell….
Last contest I was in the 400’s…maybe less than 10 is lucky!!!
It’s the best day ever! (If I win.)
I’m with you—tried to hate it, but I ended up liking it. My 9-year-old got his little sister to like it. So funny to hear her singing the songs!
Being #4 is definantly risky for a win. lol But then again I have been all other numbers and never won … ha ha!!
I too tried to hate Spongebob… I even swore my kids would never watch him. But I like him and they do watch.
Yeah Spongebob!
I still don’t like Spongebob, but both my kids do!
Who lives in a pineapple under the sea? SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS! F*U*N!
My husband likes Spongebob more than my daughter. But that theme song is something, isn’t it?
My newphew lovs SBSP.

My kids love Spongebob! And this could increase my coolfactor by the power of ten!
Oh, I love SpongeBob. There is a quote for almost every life situation in that absurd show. Plankton is just too, too funny.
SpongeBob is my favorite cartoon! (And my son’s, too.)
Sigh. I know. I want to be totally annoyed, and I AM annoyed—but I also think he’s kind of…nice.

This would be cool!
I am a huge Sandy fan!!
Please pick me, oh pretty random number generator!
Please pick me!!!
We are watching SpongeBob RIGHT NOW. It’s actually quite clever – too bad it gets such a bad rap! Thanks for the contest, Mir.
SpongeBob is a favorite in this house (well, with at least one of us)…
I’m in. Why not. Can’t resist a sponge who is best friends with a squirrel.
I have resisted the charms of Spongebob, but alas, my son has not.
My kids love him, alas. I’d love to have it.
My husband has made a very rational argument as to why SpongeBob is a good role model, as far as the choices go in the cartoon world:
1. He is gainfully employed
2. He does his very best each day at work.
3. He has a pet he takes care of.
4. He’s friendly to everyone, no matter how dumb or cranky they are.
5. He does his best to have a good attitude each and every day.
Dude’s got a point.
So, anyway, we’d be over the moon to win the DVD! Thanks for the contest.
My son loves Spongebob! I secretly enjoy the show as well, but don’t tell him that!
Square Bob sponge pants. This is my sons favorite program.
Daddy and the girls *love* SB. Mom . . . not so much 🙂
Oh how the kidlings like their Squarepants!
I’d love to win some peace and quiet…
My boys LOVE SBSP and I do not. It has become their special thing to do with their Grandpa who is coming to visit in a few short weeks. They would be thrilled beyond belief if we won this dvd! thanks 😉

who lives in a pineapple under the sea?

Yea I really hate spongebob but I cant help watch that STUPID Ash(haha) show everytime!
It’s good to know I’m not alone. My kids are obsessed. And sometimes I can’t help but to laugh.

My kids love Patrick more than I’m comfortable with. I’m a Sandy fan!
He is pretty goofy, ol’ SquareBob Spongepants. (yes, I know, but it makes the grandkids laugh. And he is a square(ish) sponge in pants, so…)
Anyway, the random number generator has not been kind to me (and after all I’ve done for it!) but I’ve always had a special affinity for electric jellyfish. They’re so pretty!
How sad is it that I like him more than my son?!?!?
Dig the electric jellysfish.
My tomboy daughter loves Spongebob, and is, in fact, wearing a Spongebob tshirt today. Thanks for the opportunity.
We love Spongebob! Thanks for a chance to add this to our DVD library!
Spongebob drives me nuts, but my hubby seems to like him. And Kati’s (#55) husband does have some very valid points. (not that I read every entry on here–hers just kind of stuck out)
My son has been asking for this dvd for days. Please pick me!
Thanks for all of your steals and deals! We love SpongeBob at our house!
Yeah, I’m a goober: I love Spongebob.
Even my three-year-old knows who lives in a pineapple under the sea.
our whole family loves spongebob!
I love love love SpongeBob. And I’m glad to hear that other adults do, too. I have some little plastic SpongeBob characters that came out of various fast food kid meals and I keep them on the window ledge in my office. The students in my school (high school) like SpongeBob too, and I get a lot of positive comments from them about my little collection.
Sign me up! Nothin’s better that a free Spongebob!!
Well it wont be for my kids, it would be from my Big kid, hubby and yes he would love it lol
Who lives in a pineapple under the sea??? We do, we do! Let me win. 🙂
Let’s gather round the camp fire and sing the campfire song. The c-a-m-p-f-i-r-e s-o-n-g song and if you don’t think that I can sing it faster then you’re wrong, but it will help if you just sing along…
Bum, bum, bum….
I’ll spare you the rest.
A free Spongebob. Nothing drives my hubbie more crazy than all the reruns on over the weekend….who couldn’t use a whole dvd of them(sorry hon). Pick me, pick me.

Tried to hate him…couldn’t do it. Love him.
Already over 100 people want a Spongebob DVD? Wow… My almost-4-year-old daughter is anxious to jump on the bandwagon — peer pressure and all that, or maybe it’s her 12-year-old uncle’s influence…

I am in complete agreement with you over Spongebob’s insipid insanity, but my children still go nutty over him. My son has been singing the Pest of the West theme song for days. So, as much as I don’t want this, my kids would LOVE if my comment was picked.
We just adopted a teenager from China and she is using Spongebob to help learn English!
Hey with 5 boys spongebob is HUGE in this house! Pick me! Pick me!
My kid is a Spongebob fanatic. (Funny, so is his father)
Oooo! This would be a huge hit over here!
I live in a house with 3 boys who adore Sponge Bob.It would surely be used with love here!
I can sing the whole “Wish I was back in Texas” song and I’ve never watched it. That’s what three days in the car with a child who watched it over and over will do. Hey it kept her happy with the move.
My daughter loves SBSP! She can quote whole episodes word for word! What does that say about me as a mother? Let’s not go there…I’m just doing the best I can! Just like SB everday at the Krusty Krab!
Please, we have watched our other Spongebob DVD about a zillion times….
Is it bad that I love SpongeBob just as much as my kids?
Could be that’s why I love teaching Kindergarten…
That stupid sponge IS hilarious. 🙂
I swore I wouldn’t watch Spongebob either lol. My 2 year old calls him BOB, yes, I watch him too.
Need the Spongebob for my kid Spencer Bob

(We meaning my husband and children.) I just want the very best deal, and look, I found it! Pick me, Pick me! 🙂
