Start little, think big

Have you met the Idbids? They’re friendly plush critters designed to teach your kids how iddy biddy steps can make a biggie big difference when it comes to keeping our planet healthy and happy. There’s everything to love about these guys—the characters are made of organic cotton and the packaging is all recyclable, they come with a fun little book about making the world greener, and a field guide so that kids can keep track of the steps they’ve taken to be more eco-friendly, and they’re awfully cute, too.

Today I have a Scout Starter Kit for one lucky Want Not reader. The kit contains Scout, the cloud Idbid, as well as the book and field guide, and a cinch sack to carry everything. (This is one of the items I unearthed during the office clean-out, so the box is a little dusty, but everything is new and intact other than that.)

Want to win it? Of course you do! First go read the contest rules and regulations, then come on back here and leave a comment on this post by 11:59 p.m. Eastern (that’s 8:59 p.m. Pacific) on Wednesday, February 3rd, 2010 to be entered. Winner to be chosen via random number generation and whether or not you remember to turn the light off when you leave a room.

Cute, fun, and environmentally responsible — who could ask for more?!

And my husband teases me for passing through dark rooms rather than turning on a light, but that might be laziness more than being green… ;)

I am huge at turning off lights! Unless we’re on day nine of clouds and fog and ick and I think the sun is never going to shine again and I start thinking about doing a search over here to figure out the brand of light that pops up now and again on a deal. Ahem.
