Going on vacation soon? Or maybe you’re not planning a big trip, but would like to do something a little different, locally, while the kids are off school?

Check out Factory Tours USA to find an interesting factory tour near you. There’s lots of things to choose from, and who knew there were 17 different cheese manufacturers willing to let you come through their facilities?

  1. dude, i LOVED doing factory tours when i was a kid living in Germany…we got hooked up with the coolest freebies!!! (not cheese, though. like crystal figurines and whatnot.)

  2. Personal testimony from someone who has toured the Tillamook Cheese Factory in Oregon: it’s awesome! The video and displays were informative, we got to see the neat machines they use from several views, and the “squeaky cheese curds” they gave out at the end were very interesting! No visitor should pass up on the fresh Tillamook ice cream after their tour – simply delicious!!

  3. OMG…Frances is SO right about Tillamook Cheese. A fun tour, yes, but the best ice cream in the world! Whenever I am in Oregon, I am sure to get myself to the grocery store to buy some Marionberry Pie Ice Cream. MMmmmm..

I live near Pennsylvania but I have yet to visit the Crayola Factory or Herr’s Chips Factory. They are both supposed to be great.

What a great site, Mir! Thanks, as always!
