We’ve talked before about not giving teachers Yet Another Mug. One of my favorite teacher gifts to give is an electric labelmaker, because it’s just so darned handy for… well, everything. Also, they can be pricey, but sometimes you can find them on sale.
One year I bought a whole batch of them on clearance at Target for about $5 each. That was a good year.

As a teacher with an endless collection of mugs I had to say THANK YOU for pointing out a more useful gift! I have more coffee mugs, tote bags and teacher plaques than I could use in a lifetime. Sometimes I wish I could just send a wish list home with the heading “if you are going to buy me a present – and not that I expect you to – please consider one of the following:”
I heart my LetraTag big time. A nice gift might involve a few extra tapes, too — those are kinda pricey.
