Cook dinner at breakfasttime

I’ve made no secret, here, of my deep and abiding love for my crock pot. I wouldn’t say it’s mankind’s greatest invention, but it’s definitely in the top five. There’s something incredibly satisfying about getting dinner done (the prep, anyway) early in the morning and then just sitting down to a hot meal later.

Of course, if you’re not making a one-pot meal, you still have to get your sides ready before you sit down to eat. Which is kind of a drag.

Except that now it isn’t, because with a Slow Cooker Mate you can cook up to three different dishes at once all in your programmable cooker. There’s one big stoneware insert and one shallow, divided insert for your sides. It’s genius. If I had one of these I might never turn my oven on again!

My crock pot has a broken lid and it cooks too hot (cue the violins), and I had to walk 10 miles to school in the snow as a kid, uphill both ways.

I would starve to death without my crockpot! I live by myself and run 5 times a week, by the time I get home it’s late and there is no way I’d make myself a healthy dinner. This would be fantastic, since it’s always the sides that slow me down when I’m starving after a long day at work and a long run at the gym.

I live in Mozambique Africa and use my slow cooker as much as possible as it doesn’t heat up the house. also, because I live and work at a children’s center, in a dorm of 28 boys, and the time before dinner is too busy to try and prepare a meal! So although you don’t ship here, I have a US address and could bring it here! Thanks for doing a giveaway!
A cookbook I’d recommend – Not your Mother’s Slow Cooker Cookbook. She has that one and one that ends in “For Two” for smaller crockpots. The meals are great and contemporary!

I just made crockpot pot roast last night for dinner! It would have been SO much easier if I could have done the side dishes along with it though, instead of remembering at dinner time that maybe just a hunk of meat does not dinner make.

Since our preemie came home, it’s been a great way to insure that my 3 year old (and husband and I) get at least one hot meal a day.
