When my oldest was around 1 year old, I started reading this beloved book “Love You Forever” at bedtime. When it came to the lines the mother sang to her baby “I’ll love you forever, I’ll like you for always, As long as I’m living my baby you’ll be.” I sang them to my child to the tune of a hymn I know from church. When my emotions overcame me (which is known to happen from time to time), my daughter would sing those lines for me.To this day, now that she is 7 years old, whenever we hear that tune, we share a special glance and the memories flood back over those special bedtime moments when we shared a story and a promise to love each other forever.
