The holiday threw off my timing a bit, but the first round of your chance to win a swag bag worth $250 from GoodNites is over, and it’s time to select a winner. Our first recipient of a bagful of goodies is commenter 213, Tanya! Congratulations, Tanya—you’ve won the first tote bag loaded with great bedtime swag, including gift certificates to Pajamagram.com and Borders! Please check your email! Tanya’s entry made me all teary:

When my oldest was around 1 year old, I started reading this beloved book “Love You Forever” at bedtime. When it came to the lines the mother sang to her baby “I’ll love you forever, I’ll like you for always, As long as I’m living my baby you’ll be.” I sang them to my child to the tune of a hymn I know from church. When my emotions overcame me (which is known to happen from time to time), my daughter would sing those lines for me.To this day, now that she is 7 years old, whenever we hear that tune, we share a special glance and the memories flood back over those special bedtime moments when we shared a story and a promise to love each other forever.

Now, there’s two more tote bags of swag up for grabs; one this month, and one in August. You could still win, and as you can enter every single day your chances are actually pretty good. A few people suggested that entries have been low on this contest because it requires you to say more than “Yay, pick me!” Listen; this isn’t hard. Honestly. You need to come up with one great bedtime moment to share and enter it over at the Special Bedtime Moments contest site (where you stand a chance of winning a complete bedroom makeover, by the way); from there on out, you can enter both on their site and on mine every single day—just go ahead and copy/paste the same entry! Easy!

From now until the end of July, you can enter on the GoodNites site and on the contest post here once a day. Every entry gives you a shot at winning. Every entry gives me a shot at winning $1,000 worth of books to donate to my local library’s outreach program for disadvantaged kids. I’m very competitive and don’t want to lose this thing! Plus, if you don’t want a bag of $250 worth of goodies for free, you’re on the wrong site. So.

Enter here and then come back and enter here. Every single day. You could be the next winner! And remember—it’s for the children.

  1. So shocked that the random number generator showed me some love that I’m too stymied to be witty here. 🙂 Thanks mir! and thank you RNG for being my friend this time! I’m floored and very appreciative!

PS: I’m about 1/2 hour north of Gettysburg… feel like driving down and giving you a big hug 🙂 Hope you’re enjoying the Keystone State.

  2. It could also be that some people don’t have children: *waves hand in the air* I don’t have bedtime moments with my kids, and I don’t have a child to win the makeover for. I’d like to help but… 🙁

  3. Essay questions are EASY, says the professional writer! 😉

Would Jess be cheating if she recalled a moment from when SHE was a kid, with her parents?

  4. I think that would be perfectly okay, Brigitte—what a good idea!

  5. Hey hey hey! I just got my prize in the mail. Wow-wee! Thanks again, Mir & Goodnights. I am a very happy girl!!!!
