Sometimes I think I’m not a very girly girl, and part of that is due to the fact that I don’t really get some of the girly things that my girlfriends do. Like… scented candles. They confuse me. Actually, they kind of worry me. I worry I’ll forget that I have one lit and one of my kids or the dog will knock it over and set the house on fire. It’s a good thing I don’t tend towards the hysterical, right? (Ahem.)
Anyway, I’m fairly intrigued by scented warmers, because they’re a lot safer than open flames, and seem to deliver that whole my-your-house-smells-yummy kind of thing in a much more convenient, less worrisome way. oooh! this sounds great. i used to have a warmer when i taught school. one friday, one of my students turned my scent warmer on while there was a substitute. i discovered it the next monday…the room smelled really strong, but there was no damage. i’m sure that’s not a recommended use or anything, but i’m just saying they’re safe.

32 years ago tonight the home that my daughter and I were living in burned to the ground. It had nothing to do with candles, but somehow I’ve never felt the same about them since, so yes, it would be nice to try out this alternative. You should really ask me about this experience sometime, as it turned into a keystone kops type fiasco, and taught me a great deal about my own materialism. Sigh

Whoa, bakery scents?! You had me at that (because I’m normally not all “scenty” either. I do love candles, but I use unscented due to allergies to most candle scents) since I’m not usually allergic to most bakery smells in candles. Yum. I love nice smelling things like candles! And these would be much safer to have around my cat as he’s very nosey and isn’t afraid of lighting stuff on fire (he turned on my gas stove one time while I was out of town – I now have childproof/catproof knob covers).
