Pull up some sweet tea and your reading glasses

It’s been a little while since we had a good book giveaway, and I can think of nothing I like better as the weather warms and the trees begin to bloom than some southern fiction. (I swear that was true even before I moved to Georgia.)

Katie Crouch’s debut novel, Girls in Trucks, was termed “wise, wry and heartbreaking” when it came out last year. This year she’s returned with Men and Dogs, termed dark and funny by the critics. Methinks the pair of novels are just what the doctor ordered on a sunny day with a tall glass of sweet tea.

So! Who wants to win a pair of Katie Crouch novels? I’m giving away five sets of her books, because our friends at Hachette are extremely generous. If this sounds up your alley, first go review the contest rules and regulations, then come on back here and leave a comment on this post by 11:59 p.m. Eastern (that’s 8:59 p.m. Pacific) on Wednesday, March 31st, 2010 to be entered. Winners to be determined by random number generation and about to say “y’all” without sounding stupid.

Ready? Go!

  97. Love me some books…

  98. the key to not sounding like an idiot is just in saying it quickly…one syllable, no pause at all between “ya” and “all.” and THANK YOU for putting the apostrophe in the right place! it makes me CRAZY when people put it in the middle! ok, rant over. i’m in, y’all! (it CAN TOO be singular.)

  99. I hope I can say it without sounding silly, since I’ve been saying it my entire life. (And I agree with Amelia and the placement of the apostrophe. I can’t stand it when people spell it “ya’ll.” That is not the same as “y’all,’ y’know? 😉 )
