Are your children ungrateful wretches? It’s okay if they are. I don’t judge. Sometimes I have a couple of those, myself. And I’m always looking for great ways to get them involved in doing for others, so that they have less time to focus on themselves. Heck, whose family can’t use a little bit of help in thinking and behaving more altruistically?
That’s where Boom Boom! Cards come in. It’s one part game, one part charitable acts, and all parts fun. The Family Edition (which I’m giving away today) includes 26 cards with Acts of Kindness missions, as well as blank cards so you can invent your own. Plus it’s got a Command Central Activity Board to keep track of everything, and cards to prompt discussion about the good you’re doing. And it goes beyond your family, too—register your deck online and you can track your progress along with all the other Agents of Altruism all over the world.
In short, this is a family activity all about giving back, framed in a way that makes it so much fun, you’ll all be inspired to perpetuate random acts of kindness more often.
Want to win it? Of course you do! First go review the contest rules and regulations, then come on back here and leave a comment on this post by 8:00 a.m. Eastern (that’s 5:00 a.m. Pacific) on Monday, September 20th, 2010 for an entry. One entry per person, meanies prohibited, and winner to be determined by random number generation and general good karma.
