So a while back, someone pitched me for one of my other gigs, asking if I’d like to review a new solar-powered keyboard. I said absolutely! I was really looking forward to trying it out. But then it arrived and… it only works with PCs. We are an all-Mac household. No solar keyboard for me! But that’s okay, because it means I have one for you.
The Logitech Wireless Solar Keyboard is just 1/3″ thick and never needs new batteries—even indoors, it gathers enough power through the strip of solar panels across the top to keep going. The reviews have been overwhelmingly positive, so if you have a PC (not a Mac!) this could be a great keyboard for you.

I’ve had both (PCs and Macs), and the only computers I have had crap out on me consistently and before their time have been Macs (with the exception of one laptop, but one against many isn’t too bad). Sorry, Mir. I started trying to jump on the bandwagon years ago, but every time I think about trying it again, the computer or Apple product dies waaaayyy too soon. My husband’s best friend is an Apple guru (and lover and disciple and preacher) and used to work for them in California at their offices as one of those super-smart computer engineers, and even he can’t get us to switch due to our bad luck. He even checked ’em over and wondered at how “weirdly” they were acting. By “weird,” I suppose he meant “like crap and shutting down with a grey screen of death every few hours.”
Yes, Macs have a screen of death, too. It’s just a more somber screen.
That said, I would absolutely love to win a solar keyboard! 😉

I’m with commenter number 3: I want to be a Mac girl, and I was one from childhood on, until I had multiple desktops die on me (multiple=3) unreasonably quickly. Granted this was years ago, and I’ve never tried a Mac laptop so things could be different there, but right now I’m using a PC. A PC which has multiple letters missing and stuck keys due to an angry cleaning spree- still usable once you get used to it, but I’d love to have something different!

I’m a Mac person, and of all the computers we’ve had Mac and PC, only one Mac had issues before it’s time (had to get a new hard drive, but it’s still kicking around 6 yes later – I almost wish it would die so that I could justify a new Mac). I don’t think we’ve had any PC that got replaced while still working. That said, my DH and kids use PCs for school compatibility issues, so I’d love to replace the flimsy keyboard!
