I’m full of pie, and ready to hunt

I hope y’all had (or are still having) a fantastic Thanksgiving. We’ve had a wonderful day here. I can tell, because when my son was asked what the best part of the day was, he said, “The rolls. And the pie.” (Next year I guess we can skip the turkey and all the sides and just have rolls and pie.)

So I’ll do a little light duty tonight, looking around at the sales, and then tomorrow we can do some hardcore deal hunting. The first thing I did when I got back to the computer, of course, was to check all of the Amazon Lightning Deals I missed while I was hanging out with my family. There were a few I kind of wished I’d seen earlier, but that’s okay. There’s plenty more deals coming.

On the other hand, I just saw that this LEGO R2-D2 set dropped to $140 (from around $200)—Amazon’s best ever price—and I am trying to decide if I could spend that much on a LEGO set without having a stroke. On the one hand, it’s a great deal. On the other hand, as cool as it is, it’s still a box of plastic bricks. Decisions, decisions….

[Edited to add: Oh, look—the LEGO City Advent Calendar is only $28, plus you can get free one-day shipping when you pay with a Discover card. That suddenly seems positively cheap next to R2-D2. I may have just figured out what to do.]

  1. For those stalking your site (I hope I’m not the only one) I just scored Skylanders Giants starter pack for $39 on an Amazon lightning deal. Same as our Wal Mart ad here (KS), so a GREAT deal and no crowds. Guessing w/ BF and Cyber Monday, we may see a deal on this item again…

  2. I got in on the Kinect and Kinect sports. For $40 less than a brand new one, I’ll take it. Save the earth, buy used! (or something like that)
