I think I might need to stop checking 6pm.com. Either that, or I just need to stop ordering things from 6pm. But these two things seem intertwined, somehow. If only I could figure out the connection….
Today’s Holiday Blitz item there (one deep discount, one day only) is the Ukala Sydney Taj High, a.k.a. Yet Another Ugg-like Boot, for just $40 shipped (four colors available). This is a great price on a boot that’s usually over $100, so that’s pretty sweet. In addition, one of their front-page deals is on Bearpaw boots, which—and I know this is heresy in Ugg circles, but I’m going to say it—I vastly prefer to the Ugg/Ukala type sole. Bearpaws have a rubberized sole which I find sturdier overall, whereas Ugg and Ukala use that weird foam-like stuff which I guess is supposed to be more comfortable, but doesn’t seem as durable/weatherproof to me. Some of the Bearpaws start at $40, as well, so look around and see what strikes your fancy.
As for me, it’s been over 70 degrees here this week, so I probably don’t need any super-warm boots. I guess. Hmph.
I refuse to give up wearing my uggs even though my feet sweat because of the heat wave.
We were camping in Colorado and had a toasty fire going in an old big-rig tire rim. You know, the foamy-type soles on my faux-uggs melts when you put your feet up against the outside of said tire rim… I caught it pretty quick, so “’tis just a flesh wound” on the very bottoms, but they now collect more pebbles than they used to. Just sharing so no one else does it.
