Have you ever found yourself shopping at Amazon and there’s something you really kind of want, but just can’t afford or shouldn’t spend the money on, right now?

Put it in your cart and then “save for later.” The next time you go to Amazon to browse, be sure to check your cart. It will automatically alert you to any price drop on the item(s) you have saved. Like, say, those adorable Clarks sandals which were 50% off before but are now 70% off. And then maybe you’ll recall the special $20 off of $80 on shoes special they’re running, and before you know it, your head is in your hands.

Brilliant. Dangerous. The shoes, they make weaklings of the best of us (but what a deal).

  1. Do you recommend the amazon credit card? Because I for one spend tons of money there, and I’m wondering, hey, where’s my reward? But spending over $800 to get $25 doesn’t seem too rewarding. Know of any good amazon loyal customer rewards? Besides the great deals and frequently free shipping, of course.

  2. Stephanie: I got the credit card on an instant $30 reward deal, and haven’t used it since. I’d rather get the rebate on my Discover card. YMMV.

  3. I have the Amazon credit card, and we use it constantly. But, we put every expense that is humanly possible on our credit card, including several bills, and then pay it off every month, so we get $25 a LOT. Having said that, we’re moving to a cash rebate card now because.. cash spends anywhere, and that’s nice. 🙂

  4. Wow! Thanks for the great tip! The pretty shoes I had bookmarked at Zappos were $100+ and I couldn’t afford them. Amazon had them on sale for $30!
