Cook healthy, not tasteless

As someone who believes that there is no such thing as too much butter, I’ll admit to being somewhat loathe to modify recipes to cut calories and/or fat. Because, um, that’s the part that tastes good! But I have a friend who has a subscription to Cooking Light, and after eating several of their recipes, I have to say… they’re pretty good. (They’d be better with a stick of butter, but whatever.)

Check out the various offers from Cooking Light. Most of them are sweepstakes (meh), but the very first offer right now is to join their Supper Clubs.

Act today and get a limited-edition Guide and companion DVD full of our most popular supper club menus, recipes, tabletop ideas and wine pairings. You’ll also get the monthly newsletter, full of seasonal recipes and easy prep tips—all FREE!

Sounds good to me. Now, if I could get it with some bacon? That’d be unbeatable.

  1. You’re really funny. I like my butter, too! (We only have bacon once in a while, mostly because it’s annoying to make.) I just figure I’ll cut my fat and calories elsewhere. Meantime, I think I’ll check out this site. I’m always willing to give things a try.

  2. Started Weight Watchers a few weeks ago. One of my goals for the second week? “Try to get cheese back in my life!” 😉 So I understand your love for the butter and bacon. Looking forward to seeing the Supper Club things!

  3. Cooking Light is incredible; I have been a subscriber for years, and all other cooking publications pale in comparison in my eyes. CL is the gold standard. I’ll have to check out the Supper Club link–thanks!

  4. WOW!~!~Thanks oh beautiful Mir! 🙂

  5. It’s against my religion to cook “light”. Have you tried cooking bacon in the oven? It works great and you don’t have to slave over the stove. Just stick it in the oven and take it out when it’s done.
